Hehehehe! Man am I glad that worked!! I literally had nothing else up my sleeve if that failed. While there was plenty of propaganda going around there at the end - believe it or not - I had not intended on taking Utgard at the start of the war. I'd hoped to defeat Man quickly in a combined offensive and then declare war on another nation to get my last VP. However when the war dragged on and (I'm not kidding) every other nation declared war on me I knew I had no choice left. Apologies to Wok for the double-cross, tho I think he understood my reasons.
Great game tho guys, I had a ton of fun!
I went into this game thinking that I was absolutely going to lose. LA Pyth seemed like a really, really awkward nation and I didnt have any kind of plan. But with a lot of work and a good helping of luck I managed to cobble together a solid strategy out of it. After this game I think that LA Pyth could be a contender among LA nations. As you could see from my gem and research graphs its a really solid end game nation with
huge magic diversity.
Those last couple of turns were some of the most fun I've had in any game - thanks again guys
Trying to keep all my enemies off balance for
literally (as Pasha and Wok can atest) just one more turn was a diplomatic whirlwind! Never played a game where one single turn would decide the life or death of my entire nation - crazy! And then after I submitted there were like 5 delays! I practically had a heart attack every time I opened my email this week heheheh.
Special thanks to Wokeye and Aristander for being such solid allies. Also to DonC for tolerating my emotional rant. And of course to Pasha for hosting!
