Well, yes. Any plan can fail for no reason.
Most recent example - I gave Bandar Log another try recently; as I stormed a castle of my neighbour, replay showed that my SC goddess wiped TC cavalry clean, but on the global map I've lost, my goddess has retreated (no afflictions, just ran away), all my sacreds and and elephants perished.

I'm wondering how could you nail our invading golems'n'rudras army though? Just curiousty; domes tend to be a double-edged blade, they prevent its owner from reinforcing his castle just as they protect it from teleporting enemies.

Yes, I had lots of incidents in which replay results were different than real results. It seems like a kinda bug that will never get fixed.

Re. nailing your hypothetical army. It all depends. In this respect dominions is similar to chess. All the plans depend on timing, planning ahead and quick adaptation. So if your army where to be made only of Golems (so as not to lose SCs to charm) I'd have applied a certain method. Had your army consisted on only Rudra's a different method would have been used. A mixed force of them would have been the hardest to stop.
Delving into details is tedious, suffice to say that the ingredients to a response were at my possession. Or rather I was and still am under the impression that they were. Perhaps it was all wishful thinking

And yes, domes can indeed work against you as you have mentioned. Sometimes anticipation and stealthy troops/commanders can help with the reinforcements issue. I know this helped MA Man save the day in a number of sieges. Storming an otherwise empty fort that is in-fact protected by, say, 30 mothers and crones is all together a different story.

A combination force, of course. Rudra casters (to avoid getting charmed), siege and astral golems to tank, and all the battlefield-wide spells in the spellbook.
Oh well. You, MB and Ossa/Klagron did a good job keepig us busy. And just as we seemingly stopped your most threatening thugs/armies, two stales happened. I'd really love to see your method of response to our siege.
Grats.

@Kuritza, Seems like you would have gotten me after all
good thing we presented lots of targets to you or Man would have been toast. Perhaps Ctis would have been better off w/o it - I swear at times I got that feeling, esp. when sending Ctis SCs, thugs and armies to clean up the mess all those raiding enemies wrecked in Man's backyard.

@Silence0, thanks, PMed you.
