They can be any shape you like, but shapes within each set should be the same.
..one question, are these to be 'tiny' badges to fit in the bottom left of avatar pics? Or can they be bigger? Maybe something elongated to place in a sig?

Sorry my math is off today, I think that was actually 3 questions?

They would be rank badges, to fit on the left below the avatar (if any).
They shouldn't be too much larger than a standard avatar, although shorter and wider would be OK too.

Are you sure they couldn't be made to go in the sig?.. This is what I did so far..

..making these any smaller would be kind of pointless. If I take the SpecOps insigna on your avatar as a target size, there would not be enough room to show any kind of symbol inside the badge.

Anyway, let me know what you think about this sample..

Well, its a second image that appears below your avatar, in place of (or maybe just above) the rank/title text.
It could be as big as a full avatar if you like.

Ok, SJ.. I did a little bit of shrinking and this is how it ended up.. (Keep in mind this is meant to replace any existing rank badge on an avatar!)

P.S. They follow the order that you posted with a few minor exceptions.. I added a 'Active General' between the 'Armchair General' and 'Active Officer', and I moved the 'Construction/Build' badge ahead of the 'Covert Ops'

I think they turned out well, And you?

Ok, I really wasn't clear enough...

1) This isn't for the shrapnel forum.
2) Users have two separate images pop up under their name.
- one, their avatar, in your style, likely.
- two, below the first, a rank insignia which automatically changes as Posts and special status changes.
3) The images are totally separate files.
4) The rank images can be as wide or tall as a standard avatar without being overwhelming.
Common rank images are short vertically, but as wide as the avatar.

Ok, SJ I think I got it now, I'll do some minor trimming of the first batch of rank badges and make them fit in a frame the same width as the avatar pic and they will be about half the height. Does this sound about right?

Oh, and if you need more 'ranks' just let me know!

Cheers!
