Re: Xmas Game Wish List
I would honestly like all of this crap in the world to cool down just for one day. That would be the nicest present of all. One day were no one killed another person.
Sorry if that's bringing everyone down...

Re: Xmas Game Wish List
Sachmo, that would be the best present of all, however, with the way people in this world are, it would never happen, Its a shame, people need to learn to live with one another,

Lockheed martin doesn't need Sachmo's help to screw up, they're retarded enough already sadly.

Re: Xmas Game Wish List
It seems to me the best gift is cash or at least a gift certificate at a place you know the person likes to shop. That way you know the person will get exacly what he or she wants and you don't buy them they tie that they only wear when you're around.

Too true. If only we had Speer to run our military industrial complex. but to the topic at hand, and without ranting on why i dislike scheduled gift giving events, here are some of the titles I plan on picking up:
available now:
Neverwinter Nights
Mafia
BCT and ATF from everyones favorite Online publisher
available after xmas:
MOO3 (early Jan they say)
X2 (sequel to X: beyond the fronter. X2 should be what Elite was then, for the ultra-modern gamer today)
Freelancer (microsnot's remake of Privateer. blatant more-of-the-same-ism in an under-done genre. looks like fun.)
I also think the new Battlecruiser games look neat (3000ad.com) but since (1) the first two fell down. (2) they have a dozen games that do the same thing, and the newer ones claim to have more features. (3) Dr. Smart is an ego centric jackass and he rubs me the wrong way. I am compelled to either (2) wait for a later release, or (1&3) just not buy it.
there is also a pretty spiff space tactical game (more ship-on-ship), i think it might have been IG3, or something like that. i dont know if its out, or much about it.

DavidG, I've been looking for game like this as well, and we may be in luck. Battlefront.com and Fury Software have recently put out Strategic Command: European Theater - a game of grand strategy like 3rd Reich. William R. Trotter from PC Gamer, whose opinion I trust, rated it 90%. He says its the best grand strategy game since Clash of Steel (which I've never played).
I've put it on my list for the holidays. I hope that it's as good as advertised. Sometimes one does need a break from conquering the galaxy.
