Re: Countdown
If the consensus is to call it, I'm obviously OK with that. But I'll keep going if others want to (the last couple of turns have been very instructive for me, having only made it to the ultra-late game once before).

Re: Countdown
Eh, I could go either way. I'm silly busy at the moment though so my turns haven't been what I'd want them to be for the past couple months. I'd be fine with Two Bits winning this one.

Re: Countdown
Well looks like you won TwoBits. Congrats. Your go it alone and kick a lot of *** strategy worked out. I think your awesome scales contributed also. My dominion was so pathetic I was able to leach of your growth scales a little bit.
My favorite Dai Oni died this turn anyway. He was unhorrormarked, but still got eaten by that big hero killer horror.
I will post my last turn file when we have a consensus.

Re: Countdown
I don't want to force anyone to concede who still wants to carry on. I am happy to continue if others want to. But it looks like Fakey, Debaser , DrP (if he is still playing Abysia!) and myself are happy to concede and I suspect that no one else is really in a position to win from here. So unless I hear a lot of complaints we can call this one.
So it looks like we have a winner Congratulations TwoBits Maverni wins

Re: Countdown
Who kept losing the hammer of the forge lord? That must have been painful.
Anyways, in case anybody is curious I am going to post up my final turn.

That was me Stupid Horrors and stupid scripting Apparently, a mage wont cast Returning if you forget to give them the necessary Pearls, etc...
Oh well, I was sitting on a 20% Construction site for much of the game, so that made forging things pretty damn cheap (nearly half off with regular Hammers, and almost 75% off for big ticket items with the Forge Lord's).
Anyhow, I just want to say thanks: Thanks to those with stuck with the game all the way through (or who joined very early on like Debaser8 - that was one long temporary sub assignment! ); and thanks to those who subbed in later and helped bring the game to a conclusion! I had a lot of fun!
If I can figure out how, I'll try to post my final turn here at some point.
Thanks again, everyone!

Re: Countdown
well I had a 20% forge site and the Ultimate Gateway (50% Conjuration bonus) which kept me competitive even with a small income, few gems and low territory count. In the same province as the Ultimate gateway was Bottomless Lake with its 20% Conjuration bonus. But sadly they don't stack
But by the time I found the Gateway I was already boxed in by stronger powers on all sides and well behind in research and lands. So it couldn't win me the game. It did make me safe though, both because of all the cheap summons and because I could have used it as a threat to break up any alliance against me - as only one person could own it if I was beaten. As the weakest of the remaining powers I would obviously be the best person for everyone else to hold it if they didn't
By the end I was blood hunting quite heavily - getting about 90 a turn - but that was climbing. I had already bagged most of the Ice & Helios and was starting on the Demon Lords. I am not sure how strong Blood summons are though now everyone can spam Clensing Bells in CBM 1.6 I had a bunch ready for my fight with Abysia which never really happened so they never got used.

Re: Countdown
Lots of artifacts seemed to be lost. But I was obviously well behind in the mage queue as every time I tried to build one of the reappearing artifacts I failed

Was that the Construction site you stole from me that I had castled just over the bridge?
And, of course, the game ends just the second when I get enough gems to do something... My final turn will be: Wish: Armageddon. :P
