Been there, tried that. Aliasing on the GIF makes it look "ghosted" around the edges if I just use the symbol. SO, I settled for having it look the way I want it to 50% of the time. After all, being right 50% of the time is just about my average IRL...

Re: Congrats with new look forum
Slynky, I made a transparent Version of your avatar (framed of course. )..
Feel free to use it if you wish. (it should be oblivious to any underlying color.)
Cheers!
EDIT: Here's a transparent Version of your original..

There was comment, I'm fairly sure of it.
Durned if I can find the thread though...

Re: Congrats with new look forum
Thanks David. Seems like we got into this discussion several months back when I tried it and gave up. As I recall, there was ghosting on the edges because of anti-aliasing...then if I got rid of all of the "bad" edging, it looked a bit jagged (as seen in the one you did for me).
So, I had a choice of which I'd rather live with. I decided looking the way I wanted it to 50% of the time (and not being too bad the remaining part of the time) was better than looking at "jaggies" all the time. (I think Abraham Lincoln said that ).

Why live with 50% when 99% is available?

Re: Congrats with new look forum
The new forum looks great..
And while we're on this topic.. Anyone remember the colorscheme they had before the green one that they had for the Last 2 years or so? ( The fluorescent toxic green one that made your eyes hurt, and that made it impossible to check the forums at work ) the forum has come a long way...
