Re: OT: How old are you ?
35, married, no kids (hence the time to waste modding).
Chemical/water treatment engineer. Been playing boardgames since I was a kid, computer games since I discovered computers.
Like WWII and space games - operational and strategy level. Not into real time games as I like to ponder and optimise.
Play a lot of "beer and pretzel" boardgames with a bunch of friends on a Friday night.
Favourite computer games - Civilisation series, MOO1, MOO2 (where I acquired my alias playing multiplayer), Panzer General, Ardennes Offensive, Caeser III, Sim City, War in Russia, Heroes of Might and Magic series.
Favourite boardgames - Diplomacy, Fire in the East/Scorched Earth, World in Flames, Babylon 5, History of the World, Brittania.
Oh, by the way, I'm Australian.

Re: OT: How old are you ?
Looks like the median age is pretty close to 30-ish. I'm 33 and bought my first PC in 1991 just to play Civilization.
My favorite games have been Civ, Civ II, Moo, MooII, SMAC and the X:COM series.

Re: OT: How old are you ?
Seems like a good place to put my first post.
24 Years old (I think), and I work for an engineering firm in the UK doing all their foreign language stuff.
First game... can't remember. Chess I suppose, shoot 'em ups on the C64, and eventually supremacy and Sim City on the Amiga. (Still have and use my Amiga BTW=-)
Now I annoy my girlfriend playing low spec games all evening on my salvaged P133.
I've been good all weekend so she won't get annoyed when I start my new PBEM tonight...

Re: OT: How old are you ?
Seems I'm a bit older than most of you guys, 49, living in Amsterdam, Holland. I have my own accountancy firm on which I spend minimum 12 hours a day, I sleep max 6 hours, the rest is for SEIV. My first machine was the Sinclair ZX 80 (1K memory, later enhanced to 16K), so I guess I'm one of the computer die hards. When IBM introduced there first PC, indeed with Microsoft's MS DOs 1.0) I got involved with a group of people who wanted to form the first IBM computer group. Many years later this group was integrated in HCC, the biggest Dutch computer club with 200.000 + members currently. In those days my mind already was full of the possibility to play a game like SE IV, but due to memory limitations it became possible only rather recent to create such a game. I'm happy it's now possible and look forward to the next step in development. It's interesting to read Aaron's view on this in a recent article. Let's wait and see.

Re: OT: How old are you ?
I'm 31 years old, male , from Germany, support specialist for a new digital printing machine which will be launched this year. I 've played strategy games almost exclusively: Civ, MOO, AC, BOTF, ... almost everything from MICROPROSE.
It was Dec 2000, when I've been surprised by a game review of SEIV (first contact). I was sooo lucky, I read that review site over and over and over, ordered SEIV the same day and literally waited in front of my mailbox for just one week. Have no time for real life any more ... have to rule a galactic empire now... many thanks to MM and everyone who improves the game, carry on with it.

Re: OT: How old are you ?
I'm 33, married 2 kids living in London, England. I'm an IT Consultant specialising in configuration management (which is as boring as it sounds). I've been wargaming since I was 11, lots of SFB and Starfire. Like our Vogon friend (know any good poetry?) I found SE4 while looking for a Starfire link. Glad to see that the forum isn't populated exclusively by teenagers, unlike the Age of Empires ones....
