Re: OT: Installing a second OS
www.elderscrolls.com Best RPG's ever!
Well, so much for that. Thanks, people.
It might be too much memory; I'll try to get ahold of a small stick and see what happens.
If that doesn't work, maybe fdisk D and partition it and install 95...

Re: OT: Installing a second OS
Heck ya nark. I love Morrowind... I need to get my mitts on a copy of some of the earlier stuff. The next version of the Elder Scrolls looks kicking too.

Re: OT: Installing a second OS
Gee... I never even thought to install 2 OS's on my laptop...huh...
That would solve the "No, your stupid little DOS programs can't TOUCH my serial port!" problem that XP has.
Unfortunately, the XP was installed by the manufacturer and I'm NOT uninstalling it.

Re: OT: Installing a second OS
Are there any programs that 'hide' memory? Something like a slowdown program like MoSlo, only to make the program that gets run think you have less memory?
(The more I think about, the more I think that too much memory is the problem. The posts on the Daggerfall forums said that the Daggerfall install program freezes on running in XP; mine gets an error on a dos extender (and crashes), which is probably a memory program)
Not even sure how I'd find that on the internet.

Re: OT: Installing a second OS
Sivran helped me find a program that allocates and frees memory; didn't seem to help. Dunno.

Re: OT: Installing a second OS
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!!!!!!
If anyone wants to know, all you need is a file called DAGGER.GRD in your Arena2 directory with something like 1234 in it. Just a text file.
Whoops, sorry, much thanks to all who helped. That should be enough trophy's for everyone.
