Re: MA Man in latest CBM
What's the fascination with Oberon? He's from Germanic mythology (Aldrich the Dwarf), who became Auberon in French in the middle ages, and from there Oberon in English. He has *nothing* to do with either faeries or England, excepting that Shakespeare included him in a play.

Re: MA Man in latest CBM
If you actually read the full line you quoted I said "They're not even the best in their age at either of those paths. Which don't even synergize well."
So yes, they've got good air spells, but Caelum and Vanheim have better mages to use those. They've got good nature spells, but Pan is better at those. And there isn't even anything specific you get access to by having the combination.
My real point is that they don't have either diversity or strength in the paths they do have. If there was strong synergy between those paths that would help counter the lack of diversity and strength.

Re: MA Man in latest CBM
Air + Nature = rainbow armor, one of the best armors in Dominions.
Man was seriously nerfed when Lamia Queens got 'death' in their casting requirements. In Dom2, having nature magic meant that you can easily expand into death, blood and astral via lamia queens.
So, perhaps giving Man some wannabe-lamia queen with just nature or nature-air/water/earth casting requirement would be a way to aid the nation.

And of course Eriu strictly dominates them as an AN power in MA.

But rainbow armor needs something with a high natural prot or earth to really work.

Hmm, you are correct but getting the RoW in time can be hard without any astral income. Yes, you can let your god search but others can let their god do something else.

Re: MA Man in latest CBM
Rainbow armor is a great armor but there aren't very many units that have a strong use for it.
It is at its best on Supercombatants who need to soak MR attacking spells. Throwing it on a common thug is often a waste of gems because it gives rather mediocre, generic, bonuses instead of the focused task-specific ones that thugs usually need.

Re: MA Man in latest CBM
Rainbow armor with no other prot doesn't change the math of that combo much at all, you might as well do it naked aside from the reinvig and MR.

Re: MA Man in latest CBM
Mistform and regeneration are also good ways to make up for a lack of protection.

Re: MA Man in latest CBM
You still need a chassis to put it on. I guess appropriately blessed Wardens could do the job, but you'd lack other important gear. Especially MR to not get mind hunted or owned in other way.
