Why unfair? I have temporarily substituted, and been substituted myself NP. The key here is getting a sub that actually likes playing the nation in question. Contacting old opponents from previous games is a good way to do this.
Then you take the sub with the good & the bad, what he does is well done, regardless of whether it succeeds or you would have done something else...heck, sometimes the sub can even make a better show than the original player, or teach some tricks (has definitely happened to me), and comentting strategy/tactics is fun.
Whatever you decide we'll do, just don't be taken back from a temporary replacement, you can even keep your sub posted afterwards on the progress of the game, and have him still partake on your playing.
Besides, we are slowing down already to 4-5 turns/week, so it will be less turns than it would have been a couple weeks ago.
Cheers,
Pepe

Re: AranMP game (renamed)
Patch out!
Download it but do _not_ install it yet.
We will try to coordinate upgrading with the other game going on in this forum, as there are some of us present in both games.

Cheers,
Pepe [/QB] I've been sub and seen sub before. He basically can't really make many major decision other than filling in the recruiting queue or allocating research points. At this stage, major war will occur any turn. So, if it's going to be on the hand of the other person, it's better that he know that he can make all the decisions (and suffer all the consequence ).
The point is more it's easier for me to get a replacement in such a short period than a sub.
Did you get my email about Rabe?

Re: AranMP game (renamed)
Yes, I got it, I just got a backlog of mails pending answering (sorry for delay), can barely keep pace with this forum also.
We shall upgrade after next hosting. I have R'lyeh & Ermor's turn files, need still Abysia, C'tis & Ulm _in_the_old_Version_.
Then I will host, upgrade, and send you all the next turn files which will be v2.06 (so I suggest you upgrade before viewing them).
Wan, if you prefer a replacement, a replacement will it be. Do you want your rep to start with this turn? If so send him the current .trn file.

I'll take care of one or two more turns while I brief him on the situation. I'll take care of the transition.

I've been trying to send in Ctis's turn for over 24 hours, every 30 minutes, and get:
A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed:
g*****@n*****.com
SMTP error from remote Mailer after MAIL FROM:
host smtpas2.vodafone.es [212.166.186.193]: 550 5.7.1 RBL listed site refused
I've gotten this exact same message before, but it went away on the second or third attempt to send. No problems emailing other people, so my guess is that your ISP has identified either me or my server as a source of spam and is rejecting everything.
Any ideas? If there isn't an easy solution, setting my one province to computer control might be preferable to trying to fight the system, and is unlikely to damage the game, seeing as how I never recovered from an ill-advised (failed) attack on turn 3.
All hail Fluffy, Giver of Food

Re: AranMP game (renamed)
Only removing Ulm's .trn file brings up the hosting screen. Wan, did you upgrade before sending your file?
I need a v2.02 t29 file or your nation will stall.

Re: AranMP game (renamed)
Missunderstanding corrected with a new Ulm.2h file & game hosted t30 succesfully as far as I can see, get back to me if any of you had any problem.
I UPGRADED SERVER after hosting to v2.05, and sent you people the .trn file, so you should all upgrade also.
