YMMV
2 Slick: Well, as always it was my mistake - I simply mistook your post. You seems to be professional in this area and I wanted to dig truth. Let alone I became angry then decided that internet gave me wrong formula. Oh, well.

Re: OT: Nuclear War???
No Slick, you're not becoming a pain. Your information is quite interesting, and more reliable than most since you actually work in the nuclear industry. So please, if you have more knowledge to share, please do!

Somehow or other you got your quotes messed up. I didn't speculate about the earth's core.

Re: OT: Nuclear War???
I know you didn't. That's why I separated the 2 paragraphs with a line.

Re: OT: Nuclear War???
Yeah, well, someone had to keep the thread from being total doom and gloom.

Re: OT: Nuclear War???
At one time, a Soviet (notice: Soviet, not Russian) computer error caused an alert as the soviets thought nukes were incoming. The commander of one installation was faced with the decision: launch a nuke in "retaliation" or wait to be sure? The rest is history... since there would BE no more history had he launched a nuke.

Re: OT: Nuclear War???
thats a scary thought...... "what if" is dangerous but can be sobering... what if - that commander wasnt in that day (whatever reason) and someone else had been in command? Seems like we assume that there were some very.... close calls but always find out they were closer then we imagined.
