Re: OT: The House of 1001+ Avatars
Oooo. Very nice stuff, David. I just picked it out of the gallery today, but I wondered what my new "inside the brain" avatar would look like "shined up".
In case you're really bored, what I REALLY think would be cool is some M.C.Escher avatars. Reflective sphere, geometric shapes, impossible figures, etc.

First, let's satisfy your curiosity..

..now about M.C. Escher.. This self-portrait of his turned out ok, but all the 'drawings' I managed to try shrinking had way too much detail to survive the process. So I guess you're out of luck!

I like the border, although I think the new reflection in the corner interferes with the original reflection in the "glass".

Very nice!
I did a little searching and came up with a couple of Eschers that may survive the shrinking. Let me know what you think:
(Book cover)

Probably the most likely candidate, as the shapes are already fairly small. I like the sphere or the knots. Here's a better Version of the bottom knot:

(3 Spheres)

If we pick just one--the left one would look cool, and I'll bet you'd still be able to recognize the center one, too.
(Dewdrop on Leaf)

A close crop of the center drop would probably work out decently.
(Close up of eyeball with skull)

Now THIS one would be VERY cool. You'd have to crop the center pretty close, but I bet if you cropped it right around the iris you could still see the center detail.

Re: OT: The House of 1001+ Avatars
Tried to do a bit myself with my amateur photoshop skills. How about this?
Found a colorization someone had done at www.worth1000.com then shrunk it down:
Which looks better? Full frame or eyelid over the frame?

Re: OT: The House of 1001+ Avatars
That's pretty cool. I'll have to give that sphere a try.
(testing, testing, 1,2,3).
That knot looks pretty cool, too. It is still pretty recognizable as Escher.
