To install the SEIV Mod Launcher, do this:
1) Open the zip file for it.
2) Make sure WinZip is in "Classic Mode", and not the stupid wizard.
3) Click on the Extract button. A window entitled "Extract" should appear.
4) Enter the folder where you installed SEIV Gold into the top field labeled "Extract To". Either type it in or use the mini-explorer where it says "Folders/drives" to locate the folder.
5) Make sure to extract the Mod Launcher into the same folder that SEIV.exe is in.
6) Click on the "Extract" button.

To install a mod, follow the above instructions from 1-4, then do this:
5) Look back into the main WinZip window under the column labeled Path. If there is a folder name there, then just click extract. It will create the proper folder for you. If there is no folder there, then type in the name of an appropriate folder (such as the name of the mod) after where it says "C:\Malfador\Space Empires IV Gold" (or whatever) in the "Extract to" field in the "Extract" window and then click the extract button.

We have been having real problems with our lease line, I am lucky to get on line.

Basically, I am unlikely to get Gold for some time, possible a month. Rather than holding you all up, please feel free to start. Things have rapidly gone to hell in an handbasket around here. Tesco, is your cousin single? Mac, can I take one of your two jobs? Tigga, can you buy me that beer now? If you all say no, I will ask for some of the infamous hot sauce so I can end it all.

Mac, I have stayed awake until 5 am and back to work at 9 am but here we go:

The TDM-ModPack with an Install Shield that should be capable of locating the right directory on its own!

great forum as well - nice to see a forum that deals with all the technical questions anyone could want, and has a daft general discussion thread
