I've just set Marverni to AI - it wasn't looking like a fun position, and they are at least bordered by at least two nations, so they will still have to fight over the scraps!

Re: Manatee - EA newbie game (started)
It seems like a lot of people are running into borders quite quickly. I know I have 6 provinces currently, and border 5 other nations (hello Tien Chi, Neifel, Agartha, Ulm, and, uh, I forget the other). Marverni's position sounds enviable.

5 nations! Looks like youve got a lot of diplomacy to do. Abysia has currently 2 border nations and has already started a ferocious assault against Ermor (prophets army with 17 troopers left but still raiding provinces)!

Don't you love it when...
the turn you get a good Conjuration spell, your lab burns down?

My early spreading and research stopped nicely in to a famine in my capital (the was lots of unrest). Luckily we abysians have an extra source of income in fire gems.

Re: Manatee - EA newbie game (started)
haha. I had the "1/5 population leaves" on my capital city around turn 4 or 5. ouch!
I had my pretender die on turn 3. that wasn't luck as much as personal stupidity/overambition. big ouch.
I hoping I'm just not the first one out. I got a nice defenisible strip of land, and about to get some decent spells (finally, lost tons of research while Calling God back)

Well I guess this is what happens when you take death scales and drain scales to boost your goods power .

Sounds like a bad idea.
What's *REALLY* bad is death + misfortune.
