Re: Ye Olde Galactic Bar & Grill & Phong\'s Head Cantina
I survived.
GT's petty little comment implying my maturity / age and gender hereby goes noticed but not replyed to.
Typical of a Tigga to delay the game. She is probalby taking another cat nap. Saw referance to cats sleeping 90 percent of the time.

You mean this sig?
I turn it off by habit, and I'll only post with it on when it applies to the topic, or if it will be less than 1/2 to 1/3 of my total post
Though, It was bigger before I combined all the P&N links into the P&N download page

Re: Ye Olde Galactic Bar & Grill & Phong\'s Head Cantina
Aahhh, I'm glad everyone is enjoying their brewskis, old mac here is holding the tab, until the end of Tommorrow night that is, my finances are not that plenty to let you guys indulge for an entire week. Besides, if you become shall we say under the weather, you won't be able to play SE4, indulge in research of the CTW or TGP, let alone what your wives or girlfriends would say or do to me for incapacitating their most gratituous other halfs.
GT, I thought you were going out of town?
Gryphin, glad to see your back and all in one piece
Saxon, Heros MM 4. We just started about 4 wks ago. No time limit for a turn, We meet at friends house, and while one is taking his turn, we are in other room watching TV, baseball, moview and just hashing over various games we play like SE4, and Shogun. Usually play Sunday nights for about 5 hrs. So far worked out ok, But we've done this before when we play SE4 Hotseat, we just finished a game of SE4, (I came in 3rd by the way). So we thought we'd try MM4 before we get into Gold w/mods. We are all trying different mods to see which one we want to start with in SP.
SJ, I don't see the Story THread on your Sig??don't forget your free drink on the house.....
Dogscoff, enjoy my good man, just make sure you don't drive.
Mephisto your also welcome to partake of the wonders of the Bar, until tommorrow night. Then it all goes on Growltiggas Tab
Terran C. Margaritas are ok, but you have to watch out for the after affects
I agree with Growltigga, I think we need to liven up this place, how about everyone sing together a good old fasion rendition of 100 bottles of beer on the wall.....
Everyone Singing (off key more then likely)
100 Bottles of beer on the wall
100 bottoles of beer
if one of them should happen to fall
99 bottles of beer on the wall
......
Besides since today is my birthday, and I decided to for once take a day off on my birthday, THE DRINKS ARE ON ME........ yahooooooooooo,
I shall be in and out of the forum today as I must stop at my mother-in-laws for lunch, she's buying (Steak) for my birthday, and no offense, but its not everyday I get a free steak...... but I shall ck in on and off to see if everyone is still sober or chasing the furry feline fillie waitreses around the tables.....
I'll be back
A relaxing Mac

Re: Ye Olde Galactic Bar & Grill & Phong\'s Head Cantina
Quiet? I have a feeling that work has grabbed a few of us and kept us far too busy.
Now, I feel the need to grumble. None of our games, or any PBW/PBEM game should have surrender turned on. I have just found out that I will not be able to win a great PBEM game as the number one player is set to do the domino surrender. Once they get the other races giving up, you can not catch them. It is a 10% boost to their empire every few turns. I can pull of a few great victories against bad odds, but not the infusion of stuff he will be getting. As such, I have to cough up for a new computer game. He is agreeing not to do the domino, but I still lose the bet.
Also, the whole issue of surrendering to another player warps things. If someone quits, we should just let the AI run the empire into the ground. Sure, the guy the closest to the empire will get some freebies, but not too much.
On a totally different subject. Mac, are you playing Hero’s of Might and Magic III or IV? I loved III and just got IV, but have not had a chance to try it out much. When you play hot seat, do you put a time limit on the turns? When we tried without a time limit, it took forever. One of us ended up reading a book while the other played.

Re: Ye Olde Galactic Bar & Grill & Phong\'s Head Cantina
ok.... I want to start a game soon.
I the galatic game will wait for Tiggia to get back.
So I want to start another game while we are waiting
I wish to call it cramped.
1.67 patch 1 no mod
small universe
5000 points
mid tech
10 planets... start in same system.
no ai
all research all intel
winner takes all or peace for 1 years after 5 years. ( That way an alliance can win)
I am going to set it up for 10 people to play.
3 days limit for autoed
anyone can join
Any one interested in this game?

Re: Ye Olde Galactic Bar & Grill & Phong\'s Head Cantina
Tesco:
S_J had a much bigger sig for a while, with a link to each of his mods, maps and scenarios.
I'm trying to keep mine fairly compact, but the big white graphics have quite an impact. I do get a little grin every time I see it. You can click the banner, you know, it works
saxon: I agree with you abut the surrendering thing, it can really turn multiplayer sour. Another solution (if you're in contact with all of the existing players) is to divide up your empire evenly and gift it all away, so everyone benefits but no-one more than anyone else.
