Re: Silence is golden - Vets & intermediates - Running
Alright guys. Some good points have been made.
Obviously the "no diplo" rule has been broken, which is a good reason to stop the game there. (and maybe to avoid some drama ? )
I think the outcome won't change anyway, the victory of pangaea sounds pretty obvious. Especially considering the low resistance he has met from what i saw.
So the game is officially close, congratz to Evihomer who did very well.
Special thanks to my main opponent on this one, hooley !
I really enjoyed our struggle and appreciate you fought 'til the end.
Thanks for the good behavior of every1, i hope to see you again on the field.

Grats evil, you did very well.
Thanks Bullock, what a great struggle, early on I thought I had you but amazing economy you had in producing those Knights of yours.
The bad luck didn't seem too damaging to you. You played very well I have to say and its a pity you didn't get to go the distance.

Re: Silence is golden - EA Pangaea - EvilHomer Winner !!
Pangaea has such a big lead, that there is no way he can lose
But I guess in a no diplomacy game we have to wait until he takes every single province in the game. we aren't allowed to end it before then.
So now I know.

Snark aside, ghoul does raise an interesting point, how do you end no diplo games before they start to become a grind without breaking the non diplo rule?

Re: Silence is golden - EA Pangaea - EvilHomer Winner !!
The issue is or was, Ghoul said game is over then 5 minutes later after another post by someone else, game is on.
So what is it? Game over or game on? Apparently you are allowed to have your cake and eat it too.
No diplomacy certainly has its issues, I have already said/admitted that, but if the game was over, why change your tune to game on after rallying. support in a no diplomacy game?

Bullock said he though he could still win, and wanted to keep playing. So we had to continue the game.
So according to you, there can never be an end to a no diplomacy game.

Re: Silence is golden - EA Pangaea - EvilHomer Winner !!
No diplo games need clear victory conditions, without those you enter this paradox of not being able to end the game without breaking the rules or playing until everyone is totally annihilated.
I have never seen a no diplo game without explicit victory conditions before, so it's interesting to see from this example that it is practically doomed to end with someone breaking the rules.
In other words even if ghoul had not done so someone would have broken the no diplo rule sooner or later, since a mp game played to the absolute end with total annihilation is practically unheard of.
Sorry for commenting on a game I'm not in, and even was denied a place in, but it's quite interesting and a good lesson to learn.

Thanks! hope all had fun playing.
If you by secrets mean the build I was using it was dom9, awake gorgon with n4e4. Scales were turmoil-3, sloth-3, growth-3, luck-3 and drain 2.
