Re: Corydalis - running
Now I see why most LA games don't allow Ermor. You get 0 income for the cities you take. So even if you are beating Ermor, you are a sitting duck, and will be wiped out by another nation.

Re: Corydalis - running
Have you bothered to check out the graphs to see just how bad Ermor research is? And did you notice that my army, even though it is numerically superior, takes something like 10:1 losses against any kind of opposition?

Re: Corydalis - running
Yep. LA R'lyeh presents the same drawbacks. BTW, if you start a LA game as a neighbourg of LA Ermor or R'lyeh, you will have to fight against their dominion & their military expansion without any chance to gain anything in return (if you win ^^). Unless you act as Marignon does. And not all nations can do it.
Gamebreaker, IMHO.
I confess I was reluctant to play this game since it allowed both. I tried my chance just because I was missing a MP Dom3 game at the moment, and I have been #very# lucky to start so far from both. But AMOF, I tend to avoid any LA + (Ermor || R'lyeh) game.

Re: Corydalis - running
In this particular game Marignon is the one to beat and Ermor rates only a small concern, esp. for Marignon. If they dom kill me in the next few turns they have the game for sure. TC has a decent chance as well. Thanks for the education Kheldron!

Re: Corydalis - running
Well that's a lot of "ifs" and I'm afraid that I'm not so confident. When you realize that your (so close) dominion survives even now as I'm doing my best, you know that this particular strategy won't get me anywhere against the others.
At the same time, I believe that TC at least doesn't feel like he's a challenger. Everything indicates he's the leader and will give us a wide berch in the next turns.
I must confess I never really felt that threatened by Rlyeh or Ermor though

Re: Corydalis - running
Hmm, once you beat Gath whose dom score is merely 12 your gold and gem income will be doubled and you will be the unquestionable No.1 in the game, so it's too early to call me a leader...
IMHO it'll be a war between regular troops and angels/archdevils . If we were playing with CBM1.5 or earlier I think I have virtually no chance at all, but now I'll try my best

Re: Corydalis - running
I noticed the server is still waiting for .2h files of Bogarus and Gath even if they have been defeated. Perhaps admin should force hosting now so we don't have to wait for 2 whole days...

Re: Corydalis - running
Just PM the players and ask them to send their last turn in. Maybe they don't know they need to send their last .2h file in, and it only takes a minute.
