Re: EA Land nations Only... Game Name: Landlubber:
My estimate of what I've gotten from the underwater provinces is about 1000 gold (450 + 350 + 200) and 4E, 4W, 1N gems. I'll set taxes on underwater to 0 so I get no income, build a couple labs underwater to get rid of the money I've earned, and put the gems on an indie commmander then drown him. Somebody will cast send lesser horror on 79 and 100 to stop my gem income (I'll provide the slaves).
Sound acceptable?

Re: EA Land nations Only... Game Name: Landlubber:
Are you currently the weakest player on the graphs? Or the weakest player who borders your enemies? Then you can and should expect that people will gang up on you to get a piece of your territory unless you can convince them through diplomatic means that you are worth more to them alive. Ganging up on the weakest player isn't cowardice, it's the most intelligent thing to do, and usually happens without people even planning it.

(1) You never approached me diplomatically. One might think that, if one should find oneself bordering a powerful nation, one might at least attempt to find out their intentions rather than blithely assuming they were peaceful, if not attempt to get assurances as to those intentions.
(2) I approached you for a bribe to avoid destroying you. Tribute, if you will. You responded with demands. Needless to say, I was not impressed.
(3) Ermor was going to roll over you anyway, why shouldn't I get some provinces while you're on the way out? You didn't even attempt to secure me as a war ally against Ermor. Regardless of whether it would have worked or not, you certainly should have tried, as your survival was conditional on my willingness to go to war with Ermor.
I'd blame your current predicament on a total failure of diplomacy, not some 'everyone gangs up on the weak guy' mentality.

no, you saw I was fighting one versus two, so you decided to make it one versus three. Three versus one isn't fun or challenging.
I don't understand why nobody wants to have fun, challenging battles.

Are you including me in the three? Didn't you own all of my provinces, including capital and barring ongoing sieges, at some point?
You agreed on "some kind of alliance" with me without trying to discuss the terms of it then atacked me while I was building up forces elsewhere.
I'm definietly not one of those who are ganging upon you, I'm just trying to keep playing

Wasn't that fun when I stupidly lost my pretender in a magic duel against one of your druids?

Challenging battles are the result of a failure of strategy.
I gave you an out and you refused to pay tribute to the might that is Agartha. Instead you spit in our face and slapped away the olive branch with your impetuous demands. Now you pay the ultimate penalty.
You seriously thought we were just going to watch while our neighbors put an end to you and reaped all the benefits when you've done nothing to earn our friendship? Foolish.
----
"To fight and conquer in all our battles is not supreme excellence; supreme excellence consists in breaking the enemy's resistance without fighting."
"Strategy without tactics is the slowest route to victory. Tactics without strategy is the noise before defeat."
"Thus it is that in war the victorious strategist only seeks battle after the victory has been won, whereas he who is destined to defeat first fights and afterwards looks for victory."
"One who cannot be victorious assumes a defensive posture; one who can be victorious attacks.... Those who excel at defense bury themselves away below the lowest depths of Earth. Those who excel at offense move from above the greatest heights of Heaven."
