Your not the only one who requested a delay over the weekend. Looks like we're on 72 hour schedule after this turn until next Monday.

Please Blackguard tell me what sense it makes to commit all of your forces to attacking me - even when it's futility is clear -, forfeiting your whole hinterland, including your capital in the process. I might learn something.

well, you created this whole situation in the first place. I'll give you 2 sentences of knowledge, the first you must recognize, the second is merely common sense.
1. every action has an equal but opposite reaction.
2. every action has consequences.

I'll let you finish doing the math

you (i mean marignon) attacked (backstabbed!) me in the first place. i wanted peace all along. now u are playing a suboptimal strategy for some mysterious payback. The AI would have played more reasonably.

correction: the previous player backstabbed you than bailed out when things didn't seem to work for him. when I came in R'lyeh was already knocking at my doorsteps, and I had no income nor crossbowmen at the back to fight his hordes of chaff. my armies were concentrated on your territory with mages and whatnot, so I just kept going, especially after you told me yourself that you bribed R'lyeh and later Atlantis to attack me...

obviously if I was here from the begining I would have done things differently, but in this situation that I was given there was no escape, I was dead anyway as soon as you got R'lyeh+Atlantis to knock at my back door. so the only *sensible* thing to do is make you pay and try to bring you down with me... there was never redemption for this position.

now, I really don't appreciate your tone here, nor your blunt disrespect, even degrading me compared to the AI. so I'll finish by giving you a friendly advise, don't go running around burning down bridges, you never know when it will come around to bite you in the rear.

Ahhh - things are much clearer now. I was wondering what the heck was going on over there. You two should become best friends!

blackguard: just three things.

-I have nothing to do with atlantis attacking you. I bribed only R'lyeh (who was attacking me at the time in cooperation with u) to make it 2 vs 2 instead 3 vs 1 (im being the one). Basicaly you took revenge on me for defending myself.

-I didnt compare u to the AI, but your deeds in this game, i consider it a substantial difference, i dont see any offense in objectively describing someone's deeds as i see them. I have no problem with you personally. I'm convinced the AI wouldnt have given up all his homeland to get revenge on someone, so it would have behaved more reasonably if we restrict ourselves to game terms when defining "reasonable". I believe there were some emotional benefits for you to gain thru your kamikaze invasion, so I'm sure your deeds were also reasonable if we take out-of-game dimensions into calculation.

-I'm also convinced u had other, more optimal choices strategy-wise. Even if I dont count the massive change in the political landscape that happened since you took over, which could have saved you. Tho i know it might be mine perception/opinion only.

Well I'm out of this game. Real life is stopping me from having the time to play this game or even have more than intermittent internet access. I've sent in the current turn.

This game needs a new admin. If someone wants to volunteer that would be great. Otherwise I'm just going to send the admin password to the top 2 nations in terms of province count since should be in the game for a while.

Just to make a few things clear from my end, with regards to Man and Marignon:

Man did not pay me or even ask me to attack Marignon. I made that decision of my own free will. My invasion was originally timed to start on the same turn that the previous Marignon player quit. I actually held back for a couple turns because I felt it a little unsporting to attack before giving the new player some time to settle in. At the time I knew only that Marignon and R'lyeh were both attacking Man, and indeed I thought there was a decent possibility that R'lyeh would be pulled into a war against me. I didn't actually find out about R'lyeh and Man's arrangement until just before I attacked.

Earcaraxe, you might be a little slower to criticize Blackguard, however. Granted, it's probably a bit annoying to have his army blazing through your backcountry, but his actions do make sense from my point of view (and his, one assumes). The heart of his territory is largely occupied, and he can't get his forces back quickly. Given the choice between throwing everything I had left at a powerful force, and carving out some new land, I have no doubt that I'd make the same choice. So, probably best everyone just calms down a bit, before someone says something they regret.

On an unrelated note, I see that Bonfire is no longer able to play. I'd like to extend a big thanks for starting this game and running things so far. For the future, is there anyone in particular who'd like to volunteer as admin? I'm assuming we'll need a few days before the next turn regardless, so as to find a replacement player.
