Re: Online D&D Gaming
We'll have to delay starting again a bit. I'm going to help out my sister in a week or two for awhile so I won't be around.

Re: Online D&D Gaming
Hello... Requesting to join your game. Good times for me are Tuesday evenings, Wednesday late evenings, Thursday evenings, Friday evenings. Mondays and Sundays are near-impossible.
So... human bard sound good? Charsheet is up, so please feel free to look it over.

Re: Online D&D Gaming
Your'e welcome to join Violist. However we have had difficulty planning a new time (part of me is worried we might not be able to start again). I've never run a bard before, but it'll be good to have someone who can cast healing spells.

Re: Online D&D Gaming
Would Tuesday evening work for everyone?
Violist, I see two problems with your character sheet. You appear to have spent 10 skill points too many, and the +1 magical from your armor should be included in its armor bonus rather than listed separately as a misc bonus. Incidentally, this means it doesn't count towards touch attacks, so your touch AC should be 13.
That's it for the actual rules violations, now for some other issues. Why studded leather instead of a chain shirt? The only reason to prefer the leather is the higher max dex, and your dex isn't high enough to be affected by that yet. If you're planning for the long term and thinking about when you'll have gloves of dex +6, just make the chain shirt out of mithril (+2 max dex) and it still won't affect you. The mithril chain shirt actually costs 75 gp less than +1 studded leather, gives the same protection now, and will cost less to upgrade in the future. If a max dex of +4 doesn't bother you, then 75 more gp can get you another +1 AC with a normal +1 chain shirt.
You're wielding a one-handed weapon, and only one of them. You should get something for your other hand, like a shield. If you're worried about keeping a hand free for spells with somatic components, keep in mind that a shield can be loosed as a free action combined with movement. If you think you'll be doing a lot of casting and then moving, just get a buckler. If you can wield a weapon in that hand, you can certainly use it for somatic spell components.

Re: Online D&D Gaming
Violist, I notice you have a rapier and a dex of 16. I came across a rule once to use dex instead of str for bonuses to weapons like rapiers. I think the other example was scimitars. Maybe it's in the rules, I can't remember. Interested in doing that?

Randall:
You have to select a feat to do that. I forget the name now.

Re: Online D&D Gaming
Weapon Finesse.
So would this three part answer make us Curly, Larry and Moe?

Re: Online D&D Gaming
The feat is Weapon Finesse, it only applies to attack rolls, not damage, and he's already got it. Hmm, just noticed that a shield's armor check penalty applies to attack rolls when using that, but that's easy enough to take care of. Bucklers and light shields only have an ACP of -1, so the improvement from masterwork quality is enough to nullify it.
