Computer Things I have noticed.

First, thanks for continuing to update this game, even after stating you were retiring. lol. Thank you SPCAMO!!

Second, did you notice that quite a few .lbms now that have red dots in them? I assume this is fallout from updating the palette.

Lastly, I came across an improperly identified icon, not sure if there are others, but I noticed this and wanted you to know. I attached a screenshot.

Thanks again SPCAMO!!

Sorry, didn't see that the Jagdpanther icon was already talked about in the TO&E section.

You need to specify which LBM's that you see red dots on. I am not wading through 8500+ lbms to find something I have never seen and should not have occurred when I updated the pallette because the only change to red would have affected ones that already had red and the green change has nothing to do with red on the palette list so give me some examples.... just saying you see them when nobody else has reported this does not help me

Sorry Don. You are absolutely correct.

I attached 3 examples that are just from opening up the encyclopedia and looking at the first page. There are a lot of lbms that have the red dots.

It would have been REALLY NICE to know that was the Canadian OOB you were looking at and It would have been REALLY NICE to know the LBM numbers but I "figured it out"......eventually

Troopie ( and me and everyone else..... ) did not see the "red" dots because they cannot be seen in desktop mode. They have to be enlarged 500% to be seen OR you run the Windows Magnifier

They are the result of a change made to the palette not recently but YEARS ago that replaced a little used dark purple with a more useful rust brown (Game palette index #201)

.......and the reason they are still there is they are invisible to (apparently) 99.9% of the players

EDIT

Just for the record, there were changes made to the game palette during early DOS development mainly for the main greens and the colour of water then another for the windows versions in 2005 and then another in 2016 and finally again in 2021.

The one that changed Game palette index #201 from a deep purple to a Dark Rust Brown was made in 2005 ( 17 years ago........) so that's how long some of the PIC's have been like that

So the big question is what has changed recently on your computer? Did you get a new monitor, did you change your gamma?

Nope, nothing changed except the update. I do not run the game in desktop mode though. I am old school and still run it in original resolution. 640 x 480. Just never noticed them before I guess. Didn't mean to stir anything up. Just thought I would point them out. I know Don and Andy like to fix bugs or tweaks or issues, so I thought I would say something.

Again, I appreciate the support Don and Andy provide to this classic game. Many thanks.

Well NOTHING changed for Game palette index #201 since 2005 and that's what you are seeing
