Georgia OOB?
I'm new to the forum and was wondering if anyone had any issues with the Georgia OOB. I can go into the OOB files and view units etc, but when going into The nation selection screen it is'nt there. Can anyone help?

It will not show up until you pick a year it exists as a nation

Re: Georgia OOB?
Open the game's manual (on the help tab of the game launcher, press the game manual link, which opens it in your default browser). Search the text for "Georgia" and you will find various references in there.
in the CD Extended features section:
Quote:
New Nation added..... GEORGIA 2015
Georgia will now show up in the extended version of the game starting May 1991
|
Or in the WinSPMBT version 9.0 Upgrade patch sub-section of the Release History section, as one of the bullets there:
Quote:
Georgian has been added as a new Nation to the extended version of the game starting May 1991
|
New features are always announced in the Release History section of the manual, latest version at the top of the list. Thus the release history is the goto place to see what has been added over time.
Therefore - I am guessing that its most likely that you only have the free demo of the game. Or if you do have the CD extended version, then you may be trying to set up a battle outside of Georgia's dates (i.e. before may 1991).

Re: Georgia OOB?
Thanks Mobhack. I did try what DRG suggested but that didn't work for me. I'll give your suggestion a go and see if I can give those Russkies a thing or two to think about.

Re: Georgia OOB?
If you set the game date to >5/91 and Georgia does not appear you are not using the CD version. Georgia is not available with the free DL version.
Keep in mind that up to Jan 2004 the old Georgian flag is displayed

Re: Georgia OOB?
Ok. That explains a lot. Maybe I should have mentioned that I am using the DL version. I thought it strange that the Georgia OOB was present but not the ability to play as the nation. Thanks anyway guys.

All OOBs are present in the OOB set, it is just that this one is there as an extra for the paid up players, just like the higher monitor resolutions, artillery programmes, and various other features as outlined in the CD Extended features section of the Game Guide.
The DL version of the game is really only a free introductory demo of the game for people to check out whether they like the game system, before buying the full game. The paid for CD version therefore has extras to make it worthwhile to upgrade to it.

Re: Georgia OOB?
Oh,ok. I did'nt realise that the free DL was actually a the demo version. To think I've been playing this game for years and not known. I did know that I was missing out on some stuff which was only available in the CD version, but I did'nt think it was anything to be concerned about. I've also just finished downloading SPWW2 as well, so I'll have to think about the the CD version of that. Do you know if this also applies to SPWAW? I've also been playing the free version that for about 15 years now.

Re: Georgia OOB?
Not sure you can even buy SPWAW now, its no longer supported updated by Matrix Games as far as I know. Think you just get extra campaigns with it where as you get stacks of extras with this game though in my view being able to run the game in high resolutions is worth the money all on its own.
Will take you a while to adapt to the opfire in this game as its far more inteligent than SPWAW but once I got to grips with it only played SPWAW again once.
