Question regarding network games

Hi Dominions players,

Long time since I've played Dominions (I and II) and I am deliriously happy to see that there is a Dom III out now, just in time for the holidays!

I ordered a copy for my son for Christmas (and of course ordered copies for my wife and I while I was at it ...), and it's my hope to introduce him and my wife to the game over the holidays and play some ongoing games after he returns back home (he lives in CA and we live in WA).

Question: we will probably want to start a game here at home, and then save it, and continue playing live over the Internet when he's back home, then save our game and continue in separate, ongoing sessions over the net. Is this possible? I don't think I've ever played in this manner with previous versions, doing mostly PBEM and solo games.

I'm anxiously awaiting this new version, it looks wonderful.
