Maintenence costs
I got some basic questions about maintenence:
How can I find out how much a ship/facility costs to maintain each turn?
What objects in the game require maintenence? I know ships do and satellites don't, but what about fighters?
Is there a way in the ship design phase to see how much it will cost to maintain?
I have a suspicion I'm overlooking something obvious.

"How can I find out how much a ship/facility costs to maintain each turn?"
Once it's built, click on it. There will be a maintaince amount on the ship details panel.
Before you build it, open up the combat simulator and right click on the ship in question. That will give you the maintaince AND cost on the same screen.
Anything that requires a shipyard and is listed under "ships"- i.e. ships and bases- requires maintaince. Anything that doesn't require a shipyard, and is listed under units- fighters, drones, sats and weapons platforms- doesn't.
Another way to think about it: if a type could carry cargo, you have to pay maintaince. If it IS cargo, you don't.

Re: Maintenence costs
Another option, is to right click on the item while inside a build queue.
There, it will show you both the price and maintenance.
Be warned: the windows with dual cost showing (price and maintenance), are not guaranteed. If the vehicle (such as a base) or a component is on the vehicle that modifies maintenance, it is not reflected in the dual window.
Once built, the maintenance shown when you click a vehicle is accurate.
I don't know if the latest public patch addresses this, but the next one surely will.

Re: Maintenence costs
Also, on the Ships screen (F6), there's a button which shows the maintenance cost for every ship you have, and you can sort the list by clicking on the column headers.

Re: Maintenence costs
Maintance is also basically 1/4th the cost of the ship a turn..

Re: Maintenence costs
Wasn't mantenance supposed to increase when a ship grows older?

Re: Maintenence costs
The manual says that it's 30% the total cost.
