Players in NGC4 and NeGoC5
Hi.
I've recruited Alneyan as host for NeGoC5, but he has a bad connection, so it's not all clear yet. I'll have to discuss with him if he's still up for it, will be back on this issue later.
But in NGC4 I have no replacement host, and I'm leaving in two weeks.
I won't be bale to check on the game for several periods this coming year, from mid september. The periods will be between 4-8 weeks...
Suggestions for solutions?
Volounter hosts, prefarrably not playing in the game to host!
Time is running out on me...

Re: Players in NGC4 and NeGoC5
If that would be easier for you, I could take care of NGC4 *if* I found a replacement player for my own Empire there. I am having a tough time keeping up with NGC4 because of the said connection (that game weights a lot for a poor modem), and so would appreciate if someone took this game for me.
If someone is indeed interested, the Empire in question is doing well score-wise, but is weaker than what the figures tell. It is still within the top five, and should be interesting at the very least. You don't even need to do much micromanaging, as you cannot build more warships for the moment, and most of your planets are fully developped (you will unlikely have the leisure to develop your other planets).
I will withdrawn as soon as someone tells he is interested by this game. Then I could take over as host for this game, assuming I have a fairly stable connection (no need for speed here, as long as mails can be downloaded).

Re: Players in NGC4 and NeGoC5
Alneyan, I can support you in NeGoC5 when I am back from my holidays second week of october. Just drop me a line if you have connection / time problems. And if Ruatha isn't already back then. Bad timing that the swedish army didn't ask me when they were allowed to draft our host
Please, please, pretty please someone for NGC4? It really would be most appreciated.
I guess it will be not much work, just switching on/off ALPU if PBW hickups or similar, we are all nice guys and do not pester our host more often than necessary BTW, Ruatha, could you kill the Spelunkers as they requested, and I think the Quasar are too not in a state that someone wants to take them? Thanks !

Re: Players in NGC4 and NeGoC5
The problem is that Ruatha leaves in mid-september Roanon, so I won't be back at school when he leaves (where I would be able to get a backup connection if needed). Still, there should be no problems. Hopefully. Barring the unexpected, and Murphy's Law.

Re: Players in NGC4 and NeGoC5
Alneyan, you can't leave NGC4 man! we need you in our fight to save the quadrant from Primeval domination!
Ruatha: I can take over NeGOC5 if you want (I am not in that game) or NGC4 too (but I do play in that). I don't find being a host takes up much of my time at all...
And, hey, talking about Sweden, you wouldn't happen to be from Lund would you? I had some good buddies of mine who always bragged about a student festival they had there every four years or so that is apparently the biggest party in the world. I'm thinking about trying to go some time...
Anyways, my services are available...
Thanks,
Alarik

Re: Players in NGC4 and NeGoC5
Hi all.
I was convinced I'd already killed Spleunkers... obviously not, done so now!
So, three who can host NeGoC5 and perhaps Alneyan in NGC4.
As Alneyan already has agreed to host NeGoC5 and has extensive knowledge of the rules I'd preferr if he hosted that game.
If we could find someone else for NGC4 that would be best, that way we wouldn't loose a player.
But in NGC4 also I don't think "not playing" isn't as important as in NeGoC5 where rules discussions are much more common as the rules are more complicated.
But if we don't find anyone else for NGC4 we'll ask the other players if Alneyan can contunue playing and hosting aswell.
And I'm not from Lund but I guess it can be fun there, it's too far south from here, only been there once.
Try it and let us know!

Re: Players in NGC4 and NeGoC5
That all makes sense.
I really couldn;t get a grasp on the NeGoC5 rules when I subbed for Alneyan for a few turns - I was just confused.
And I really really don't want to leave NGC4 - my Aether lords are making mincemeat of Roanons' fleets, and I can't abandon them in their moment of triumph!

I wouldn't have a problem with it.

If you could hurry up a bit I could take over hosting NGC4 after you have eliminated me from the game. You don't want to unnecessarily prolong my suffering, do you ?

Re: Players in NGC4 and NeGoC5
Well, we're trying to be merciful. And I want Alneyan to get his fair share of shots in as well. You know, spread the wealth, that sort of thing.
