Stupid Newbie Question

Greetings from the Cipherious Empire. I have been playing SEIV for quite a while now, and have gotten to the point where I am bored with the AI.
For some reason I've never had any luck trying to get into a PBW game; even one that said it was looking for players. Any suggestions?

Use the TDM Modpack. This mod uses the standard game with MUCH improved AI. They are challenging.

Welcome to the Boards then.

If you haven't checked any mods, you could try TDM, which is the vanilla game with much improved AI, Devnull Mod, which also improves the AI but tweaks the game, or the AIC mod, designed to provide a challenging AI. (All three can be found in quite a few places)

As for PBW, I believe you were merely unfortunate. You should have been accepted in a game looking for players without too much problem. I can only advise you to try again, or to be on the lookout for any new game, or perhaps even to try the King of the Hill League if you like more competitive games and are feeling courageous enough.

Or likewise, you might give a try to the Rating System .

There are quite a few mods listed here. Or alternatively, you may have a look at the URL list in the "Important SEIV information and stuff" thread. (Although this list is lacking a few URLs if memory serves right)

I'd like to encourage you to play PBW games. It's a completely different matter to play against humans than a stupid computer (Even the best modded AI is a poor player compared to humans. Or at least I think so, I've never played against AI

)
