controls...
i played the demo game with my friends and we were able to grasp the gameplay in less than half an hour. i also started scouring the web with info and strategies about mule.
i am relieved by the funcionality of the mouse in space horse after playing older clones of mule. my only minor gripe is that other human plyers have to use the keyboard on the main navigation screen (ie, selecting plots, assigning horses). players need individual controls only when in a screen where they are, at the same time, active.
will we be able to costumize the controls? i hope you can address the mouse issue in a patch or better yet, included in the retail product.
good luck! i cant wait to play more!!!

Re: controls...
Not a bad idea to allow different input options for your turn and the market. However, since the game is so close to being finished already, that idea will likely not get implemented.
On the bright side, if you play the network Version when released, everybody can use the mouse on their own PC if they'd like!

Re: controls...
i see. so when will it finally hit the shelves? its much cheaper in our place to buy it in stores than on the 'net.
can a patch or update include the feature? i hope so. i remember playing worms on one pc and its really fun play the game side by side with friends. correct me if im wrong, everyone needs a cd to play in tcp/ip, right? if so, mouse usability for everyone on a hotseat game will make the game LESS UNFAIR.
please patch it for the feature!!!

Re: controls...
Using the mouse has no advantage over other players. It doesn't speed up the rate at which the player travels. It is really just a preference of which device you like playing with. Personally, I prefer keyboard or gamepad. Actually, now I'm curious what everybody's favorite input device is for Space HoRSE.
Oh yeah, Space HoRSE will not physically hit the shelves. It will only be available to order Online from Shrapnel Games, around the end of June.

Re: controls...
I think it would be a good idea to have "tool tips"
or Messages that pop up to describe what the "current"
screen expects as input....
example:
if you have the mouse as primary controller,
each screen should pop-up a brief memo as to exactly
how to use the current device (mouse) to provide valid
input....
Or maybe just have it pop-up while the F1 key is held down.
It would make learning to play much easier.

Re: controls...
Shrapnel Games discourages too much ingame help, since it prevents the need for a printed manual, and makes it easier for people to play it that didn't buy it legally.
