Default Problems with AI mood

Hey guys, I only saw Posts on this for like Last year or so, and I was just wondering, why do AI-driven races I encounter almost always go to war with me almost right away?

I've been using the TDM Modpack because of the better AI, but they all just seem to start hating me really fast. It could be because I'm playing the Earth Alliance with a low Political Savvy, but I thought that affected only trade?

So, how can I stop the AI empires from just jumping into the deep end of Murderous?

I mean, I can take them all but I'd rather fight one war at a time, maybe broken up by a few cease-fires here and there, instead of mind-numbing years of war. I'm in the position to make hefty bribes to stave off other aggression but these empires just don't seem to be interested in the whole 'peace' thing

It depends on a lot of things like whether the AI is disposed to be friendly, whether you colonize the same type of planet, your relative strengths, etc. The two most important factors are proximity and existing wars. The AI claims all systems adjoining any that it has colonized. If you have colonies in one of these systems, the AI is not going to like you, but the most important thing is wars. The AI usually goes to war with the first alien it meets. If that is you, you will be forever at war. If the AI has already met someone else and has a war going with them, they will both make treaties with you, especially if there is a buffer system between your empires. If you want to avoid wars, delay your exploration until the AI has a chance to meet someone else.

Or, since I'm that far into the game, I could shut the connecting warp point and contact would be lost.

Nah, he's going to pay for this mischief I just have to clear out a few minefields and I can roll in the BCs. Five systems, shouldn't be too hard. I'm already all over him with Intel projects, which doesn't really help get him to sue for peace.... I just figure it would be nice if they backed off and got less angry if they started getting thumped.
