Error in PBW/BM game
I'm trying ot play a turn of a BM game running on the PBW server that failed.
Each time i run it on my machine, I get an error like 'unable to load 'BitmapEffects_SpaceCombat.txt'
I don't know if this is an issue.. but I have BM 1.06 on my machine, while the server is still running 1.05+.
The turn processes about 1/2 way through and then fails with this error. It's trying to find the file in BM data folder. And it is there, so I'm not sure what the issue is...
Thanks,
Javaslinger

Re: Error in PBW/BM game
Ok, I reinstalled BM1.05 and re-ran the turn. Same error.
Ideas?
Thanks,

Where are you getting this error? On PBW, or trying to run the turn offline?

The turn originally failed on PBW, so I was trying to run it on my machine. It was on my machine that I observed the error. I'm not sure if it is the same reason the turn failed on PBW.
I ran the turn without any .plr files and it was successful. So it seems to be a problem with one of the .plr files... perhaps...

Re: Error in PBW/BM game
Javaslinger, theres a command prompt flag that will stop it running if there's something wrong with a .plr file, and will output an error code.
if you can't figure it out you could email it to me and I'll take a look, however you'd have to give me the host pass, and being one of the players...
-----------------------
GuyofDoom, this means that you've forgoten or misstyped the host password, either that or the whole game has become corrupt. try going back a turn and see if it works?

Re: Error in PBW/BM game
Ok I kicked myself in the head. I forgot I used a different password this game and it took me awhile to remember that I changed it. Sorry for the worry.

I would suggest emailing the turn to Malfador for one thing. As far as getting the game moving, you might try stepping back a turn and trying again. That would help sometimes when SE4 games would hang up like this.
