Ships from Diceland game included?
Hey, I'm a long time space wargamer, and I *love* Weird Worlds. So I am quite interested in picking this up. I am curious if the ships from the Diceland: Infinite Space (I think that was the name) game are included? There were all sorts of interesting designs, like a Terran Destroyer, a Zorg Carrier, etc.

Thank you! I see it's 'just' the ships from Weird Worlds itself, but that's fine. Will just give me an excuse to homebrew some stats.
As for adding more ships in the future, is Digital Eel planning on expansions for the game, or another release method?
Anyway, looking forward to the game. Is this forum the primary discussion point for the game, or is there a mailing list or something similar I should sign up for?

Strange, don't know how it let you post as 'unregistered'.
Definitely possible expansions, but of course all that is also tied into how popular the game is, so make sure you get all your friends also interested.
As this is the official forum this would be the primary discussion point for the game, and then there is also a BoardGameGeek entry (there's a link to it on another thread here) which can also be used for discussion. There's no specific mailing list for the game, but our newsletter will have periodic information on it.

Re: Ships from Diceland game included?
Oh, one thing I forgot to originally mention is that homebrewing stats shouldn't be too difficult once you see how the rest of the ships stack up in terms of raw numbers. Basically all you'll have to do is decide on how fast a ship should move (and the ratings reflect size classes so that's a snap to figure out), plug in weapon ratings and then decide on shields/repair units.
During playtesting I started toying around with even giving the ships the Starfleet Battles treatment (multiple damage boxes, shield boxes, energy management). Got distracted, but even that was rather easy to homebrew onto their system, which thanks to how easy it is to grok makes house rules very easy to add.

Sounds excellent. If the game is half as fun as Weird Worlds I will be singing it's praises far and wide. The short play time is one part that really intrigues- even Starmada and Full Thrust take 3-4 hours to play a moderate sized battle. Looking forward to giving it a try, at any rate.

If you haven't checked out the design philosophy behind the game already be sure to do so here.
The fast play is great because you can knock out a couple sessions during the week while waiting for dinner to cook. Want to slow it down a little? Simply double everyone's hit points or shields and the dynamic changes without really altering the way it plays. Very flexible.

Re: Ships from Diceland game included?
Just realized that the Muktian and the Torchak (no idea if I spelled those right) are not included- looks like I will need to work hard and make the game popular enough to justify an expansion with those races.

Re: Ships from Diceland game included?
The Muktian weren't included in the base game because their ships are a little too similar to human ships and with the core game they were striving for every race to play differently.
That said the Tchorak (you were close!-heh)were left off the initial offering because they were a little *too* different.
But yeah, I'm sure adding in the neglected races would be one of the first things done with an expansion material.
