Default Looking for some good (realistic) systems...

Is there any mod or file that of systemtypes.txt that include more realistic solar systems? Mostly rock planets in the centre and gas planets outwards? Additional plain solar systems? Extra moons?

I recal someone did that.. they placed rock in the center, gas on the mid-outer rings, and ice at the edges. I seem to also remember rings of asteroid belts through some of the systems, but I could have imagined that because its something I did with my old progenitor quadrant.

In my true usless fashion, i do not remember who made the system type mod. it would not be hard to recreate tho, if you wanted to spend 30 minutes on it.

A quick check of the Mod/Scenario forum turns up God Emperor's Systems and Quadrants Mod as the most likely suspect. There's also Geoschmo's Space: 1999 and Voyager scenarios.

Then again, our solar system is not the absolute autority on starsystem structure.
We've found lots of Huge, gas giant worlds in tight orbits (cause they're easiest to find).

Also, in SE4, you could crush an asteroid belt into a minimum of 15 or so tiny planets. Our asteroid belt contains less mass than Earth's moon.

The Large and Huge worlds could probably stand to have a lot more moons, some with atmospheres.

I'd like to see a new class of "micro" worlds, maybe one facility for vaccuum breathers, none otherwise, and enough cargo space for a weapon platform or two. Tried to do this one myself, but had a lot of problems with random "null" worlds showing up

Thanks. I'll see if I can find it. I just want a bunch of similiar sol-like systems with 5-10 planets max with moons around most of the bigger guys - but also a good mix of habitable systems - not just 3 standard systems, but maybe 10 or so...I just don't lots of time to make them...

Will, I fell off the map for a little bit when I first started university and continued working...but now that I'm unemployed I have a bit more time to do things...

Also, the Spoogy site is toast, but I might do something in the future with it...

I did a mod thingy with systems and planet types etc.

Errr... but it was alot more than just editing the systems.

Based on theorized models for solar system formation I had those that had the large ones up close (which in theory knock out smaller planets during initial formation so that you would have one or two large up close and then maybe a few outer planets or something) as well as standard sol type systems and a couple other ideas of my own such as a tidally locked large planet in the center of a trinary system etc...

I could probably look it up and make a few more alterations with it if anybody cares.

And I didn't have just one of each type... I think I had like 3 trinaries, 10 binaries, 5 sol types, 5 large types, 5 few planet types, etc...

Attached is a modified systemtypes file.

I have four standard solar systems. Two are my own creation. One I copied from a Moon mod I downloaded and the other is an original. All the other solar systems are the original.

In the two I created I have a small rock and medium rock close to the sun, followed by either a large or huge rock, then a huge gas. The outer ring has an ice large or huge. All the huge planets have moons with the following size combinations
M - Medium S T M S
S - Small S T T T
S S T T T
T - Tiny T T T
T T

The large have moon combinations of

No moons
1 Tiny moon or
1 small and 1 Tiny moon

I also added 4-6 more asteriods

I also upped the asteriod belt and added more storms

I also added more storms to the destroyed sun.

The one I copied from someone else's mod also as a variety of planets and moons.

With these changes I get a pretty good variety of planets. Some systems with moons and some without.
