Profiling SEIV players
I have been reading through all of the various topics in this forum and am wondering what the average player starts a game with. I have been playing the demo and am waiting for my copy of SEIV:gold. It looks as though quite a few people start with 3 planets. Is this quite common, what about racial points, and computer player difficulty? What are some of your favorite attributes, and galaxy types, atmospheres, planet types, and why?

Re: Profiling SEIV players
I don't have my copy of SE4G yet either, but I can tell you the way I will start most of my games:
Low start techs
High Racial Points (for maximised race uniqueness)
One planet start- because I like starting from scratch.
Though for multiplayer, 3 planet starts and medium/high tech start is probably more practical.
Probably will play Rock/Oxygen races mostly; though this is not always going to be the case. I am looking forward to trying each of the different options for planet/atmosphere types.
And I like huge-mongous galaxies that are clustered. I like the idea of encountering other races within your own cluster of systems, and then later encountering other advanced races in other clusters after wormhole technology is discovered.

Re: Profiling SEIV players
Low to medium tech; 2000-2500 pt start but allow max; 1 planet start, I use rock/oxygen.

Re: Profiling SEIV players
Med Tech (don't like inventing the wheel)
5000 points (uniqueness, fun mixes)
10 planets (faster expansion)
255 planet galaxy (lots of back-n-forth)
I mostly use my settings because I don't have too much time (I think I'm cutting back on galaxy size next game ).

Re: Profiling SEIV players
I like variety, so I usually start each game with most of the settings different from the Last game I started. The things I usually don't change are single planet, low tech start, and rare/catastrophic events.
