KG Griffin the Alt History Campaign Continues
Good day,
As a prelude to restarting this campaign AAR, I'm as requested attaching the OOB files for the countries I've amended for this Alternate History. Germany, UK US and Canada. Bear in mind the graphics in the case of some new creations won't be in your files.
In general the Germans have the largest amount of changes to many different aspects of the OOB. The US has some new stuff plus a lot of tanks etc coming on line earlier than historical. The Canuks bought T34 etc plans from Russia before the Counter-Revolution, upgraded and improved as the RAM tanks. Other changes abound. The UK has taken a combination route of changes etc from the US and Canada, plus some of their own developments. As well there is a weapon system/unit development/concept shared by all three Allied Nations based on the Paladin Tank design (thanks to RecruitMonty) never thought at first I could find a role or reason for this one but I did.
***Warning ensure you back up your OOB files before overwritng with these.****
There is more the follow.

Re: KG Griffin the Alt History Campaign Continues
Actually, don't even think of overwriting your oobs, since we already include the OOB swapper utility to make handling alternate OOB sets easier. With the plus point, of being able to restore to stock OOBS as and when required.
Game Guide -> Game Installation -> Manage OOB Sets.
(Of course, you already knew this, as all users will actually have read the Game Installation section of the GG on installing the game ... )
Cheers
Andy

Re: KG Griffin the Alt History Campaign Continues
War Diary, SSKG Griffin 12 Oct 1945, 1200hrs
KG Griffin has been in Defensive Positions west of El Arish on the Coastal Highway heading into Eqypt. We've spent the time improving our defenses.
The Hubz Group which just came in this morning claims to have seen a large dust cloud along the coast some 30km west of us. This does seem odd as intelligence had our enemies in retreat at best moving into defensive positions in Eqypt and trying to hold the Suez Canal. Well if they have some fight left in them, We'll smack it out of them. My boys can't wait to blood their new panzers and other weapons.
Besides the extra Hubz Group I have a 17cm Btty and 7.5cm Btty on call. I'm told an Arab runner, has confirmed an Allied force is making it's way up the Coastal Hwy. he claims they are dragging large boats with them. Funny I didn't really think these desert folk were given to drink.

Of course we knew this Mobhack. But I am reading it again just to make sure I understood it correctly!

Re: KG Griffin the Alt History Campaign Continues
War Diary, Continued Battle of El Arish
Despite my belief that the Force we were about to stop was nothing more than a recce in force, early in the afternoon the initial contact proved this wrong. Shortly after 1300hrs a Panther in Casino Kp on the high ground in out left flank reported firing on a truck with a boat and taking it out at several kms out. This certainly confirmed what our Arab friend reported and for the moment had us perplexed. Soon several more what turned out to be barge carriers were laid to waste plus some scout vehicles on the Coastal Hwy. This coincided with a sparse barrage of no effect.
I ordered the two Hubz Gps out to see just what was coming against us. My Gp went up the coastline and the “guests” went up over my left flank. They began reporting in that a force of some size was heading towards El Arish and they had barges!! The enemy put in a smoke screen and more ineffective HE. Our boys in Casino Kp were still knocking out barges. The Hubz moved slowly to take positions flanking the enemy behind the smoke screen, they now reported that the main body was moving along the HWY and a smaller force of mostly infantry coming up the hill, Most of the enemy’s panzers were with the main Hwy force, and appeared to be largely TD’s. My read on this attack now was they didn’t expect us here in El Arish. Later POW’s bore this thought out. This was a Canadian plan to launch an attack from the sea further north basing from El Arish. Also to the surprise of entire Mid-Eastern German Forces and Panzer Army Templar, the Italian and Aussie Forces had been relieved by Canadian and US Forces, the British remained.
Both Hubz Gps asked for permission to engage the enemy and I gave orders to fire at will with self-preservation job one. They rose to engagement altitude let loose hitting mostly infantry concentrations the start with. My hill posn saw an infantry assault (unsupported by panzers) stagger under the weight of fire from the air and from the Pz Gren from Boxer Kp and the Panther’s of Casino Kp. This soon joined by Arty fires. The Jaguar’s of Deckrude Kp started engaging targets as they rose out of smoke; Adler Kp was last to join the fray. Some of my intermittent mine fields also were bearing fruit as well.
We were hit with an airstrike as well; but it was largely again ineffective. However, for the first time I know of several fighters attempted to engage my Hubz over the water.
Initial contact with the enemy seemed to have crippled their plan, but they seem bent on probing forward with infantry. Boxer Kp opted to move their Rommel’s up to add to the HE storm on the hillside.

Attached are some screen shots of the map I created of El Arish. Of Note- having the Med on the North 1/5 of the Map caused the Canuks to deploy barrages.

Great stuff PanzerBob. Fighters against your Hubz? That whould be something to see! By the looks of it you have the situation in hand.
What kind of damage reports do you have?

Re: KG Griffin the Alt History Campaign Continues
Causality Report
To- 15 SS Panzer Div
Fr- swSSKG Griffin
As of 1400hrs our unit has taken only light effects from the Enemies attack on our Posn. Despite a heavy CAS by rockets, napalm and cannon fire, only one Panther received damage (repairable) and is still dug in and fighting. As well the CAS caused some minor reduction in troop strength in the hit areas. Well-entrenched positions are being credited in preventing success in these airstrikes. These positions are keeping damage from arty and small arms to a minimum as well.

Hey Bob, can we get some close ups of your units please. I would like to see what the players are bringing to the table.
