ShipSet Makers, please read - you\'ve been robbed
http://www.future-online.co.uk.nyud....ips&r3=capital
I was just informed about Future-Online.co.uk using artwork without crediting its artist. You might recognize more than a few pieces here.
Infact, the credits list...
Locutus | Eliana Tamerin as the "graphic artist" of that art.
Normally I'd deal with any kind of improper usage personally, but this is a community wide thing here and I think those involved need to also weigh in

Yep no doubts about it. Did you email them? I would but be polite about it. Any website that is hosting a FREE site for gaming can't be all that bad. Maybe the admin was lied to you know.

I don't hold the gaming website responsible, just the artist. I'm willing to give the rest of the site's staff the benefit of the doubt, but the artist is member of this community (and a few other SE communities at that).

Re: ShipSet Makers, please read - you\'ve been robb
I am not trying to defend anyone; more like look at it from a holistic point of view. I agree the graphics in question are not theirs. But I wouldn't call Locutus a member. He has never posted once and assuming the "Last On Date" is accurate (and I have my doubts) he hasn't even been here in person for almost 5 years. Saying "Member" is being more than liberal. As for the ships I can't find a place that clearly credits who made them. The only thing I can find on Locutus and Eliana Tamerin is that they did Graphics Assistance which in no way, shape, or form implies they are the artists or that they had anything to do with any ships at all. They could have assisted on the galaxy map, the site appearance, or any other number of things. See what I mean? I want to appreciate your feelings; I just don't see that there is enough info to place responsibility on either of those individuals. And point of membership aside it still doesn't mean he had anything to do with it. Association (membership) is not guilt. I'm sorry but that is the truth as far as I can discern at this point. Again; contact them and get their feedback first.

I didn't see any of my art work there. Oh well.
I wouldn't get to worked up about it, they only have access to portrait views.

Re: ShipSet Makers, please read - you\'ve been robb
The guy that did State of the Art Shipyards, I wonder what happened to him. He was a fairly nice guy. That is from his Starship Troopers set (gotta love chrome!)
I'm not too worked up about it, I'm awaiting an email back. As for Eliana Tamerin, I did catch him earlier this year using people's art without permission which I resolved with his ISP. I tend to view his participation in this matter differently.
All I'm gonna ask is that they provide credit to the authors of the art are using and maybe a link to this forum or something. To me, this isn't a really that serious. It's clear it's a fan site and I don't think anyone in charge there intended to wrong anyone here, but I want to confirm my suspicions about this incident.

I think he is trying to say the artist(s) should be flattered they thought it worth stealing.
