New GOLD game of paranoia over at PBW

I was depressed by the lack of Gold games starting at PBW so I thought I would try to get a new one going and also at the same time make it interestingly different.

If you have SEIV gold and would like to join, goto PBW and check out the open game called "Paranoia!!! (Gold)".

The basic premise is that each empire will be assigned a target empire. The game is over when the first empire is killed. The winner is the empire whose target is the dead empire.

Even if you are a newbie come play. Given the nature of the victory conditions, you can rely on the pro's to help keep you alive.

It could be interesting...

Ooo, this does sound interesting. Does everyone know who everyone elses target is? Will they be assigned before the game starts?

It is up for debate in the game description and forum whether the everyone knows everyone's target or not. And the targets will be randomly assigned and the info given out as the first turn begins.

Logistically, it will be easier if the target information is available to everyone. But there are ways to make it secret and still available if a player drops and a new player joins...

haha! i guess methane breathers will outrank O2 breathers, who will outrank CO2 breathers, who will outrank Hydrogen, and the poor no-atmosphere bastards are stuck in the foodvats.

of course, by that logic the Meson BLaster would be better than the WMG, but thats okay.

What's going to determine when an empire is knocked out? Do they have to have a populated colony somewhere?

In the Universe Cup discussion, it was brought up that the game may consider an empire still to exist, even if all it has is a mine hiding somewhere...

Edit: Oh, and are planet gifts going to be allowed, so if race Z is about to bite it, other players can donate more planets to them?

PS. What would be even more nasty would be no trades of anything at all. That way if one of the non-targets is about to die your gonna have to come with direct military aide, not hiding a moon somewhere in your vast expanse.
