How does PBW work?

Ok, I got this message saying that a new turn was availible, but no data to put into my save game folder. How do I make the turn if I do not have info to make it on. IE, where the hell is my empire placed, etc.

HELP!

You normally would have a .zip file attached to that message. If you don't then it sounds like you user settings got set to not include the game file som how. That is an option.

You can get the turn by going to the PBW site and gooing to that game info screen and hitting "Get Turn" on the left side. That will start the download of the zip file. Extract it into your save game folder.

Thanks. I had to down load it from the web site. I just uploaded my first turn. Funny things though:

One, I have only 18 facilities on my planet, and I can not build any. 18/0

two, I do not see my planet in the system map.

three, there are two other races, one human, one AI, in the same system as me.

Kinda odd huh?

Just a few shots in the dark....

1) Sounds like a medium planet with Advanced Storage Techniques, so average homeworld quality (if you're gassy, mayhap either average or bad). Check the game settings on the Game Info page of the game.

2) There may be a storm in the same sector as your planet. I've seen it happen once before, to an AI. (And it gave me fits! I could not for the life of me figure out where the ships were coming from, till I got the AI to surrender.) Go to the Colonies screen and get to your planet there.

3) Empires allowed to start in the same system. Again, check the game settings.

Which game is it, Atrocities? I'm curious to see if I'm even in the ballpark....

I think you're talking about "The Next Generation", so I feel certain my answers to 1 and 3 are correct.
