O/T Fallout 3
I just got the game and have a brand new updated comp but I decided to stay with XP.
When trying to load F3 I get a notifacation that 'Coflict with Emulation Software detected'...Not what the heck is THAT?
Anyone had those problems?

Re: O/T Fallout 3
Fallout 3 checks for certain types of software on your machine before it lets you play. In particular you cannot have programs like Daemon tools or any kind of CD burning/ripping software, or anything like that. This is basically another unsuccessful anti-pirate tactic that penalizes legitimate consumers. The double barreled shotgun of irony is that a torrent of the game is widely available.
So the solution to your problem is to uninstall the offending software, whatever it is.

I think that it only conflicts with CD drive emulation/CD burning software.
By the way, I had the same problem when I bought it, and honestly I was offended by such arrogance and stupidity. I buy a game, and I can't play it because YOU want to decide which software I have on my computer??(I was also offended by how they ruined the Fallout series, but that's another topic )
I hope I don't need to tell you how I solved the problem, and how I suggest you solve it too...

Re: O/T Fallout 3
Well, I also had Daemon tools lite on that comp. As for ruining the FO series... well I hadn't played the first two, so I wouldn't know, but I still felt that the game model was far better suited to Oblivion.

Re: O/T Fallout 3
I put Martigen's Mutant Mod and a few others to make it more atmospheric and I blue screen every 30 minutes when I'm walking around the wasteland, and randomly when I try to save. This doesn't help the discussion at all, but I just wanted to vent. Damn Fallout3.
