Pukes Furball Four, on PBW

You have waited for it, you have wanted it, you have lost both of the previous furballs (two didnt count, so we are talking one and three), and so HERE IT IS! (starting in january or when furball 3 ends) Come witness Puke losing another one of his own games! Come fight and die in:

PUKES FURBALL FOUR - projected start date JAN 10

Some of you may recall the Furball games, or have even played in them. If you are familiar with the events, you will know that the ODD numbered games are all solid games. One system, and as many players and planets as will fit. Max Tech, and bash it out until only one player is left.

The EVEN numbered games will follow experimental formats. Being a Furball, they must be fast and furrious, wet and wild. Max Tech, Max Planets, lots of smashy-smashy. Furball 2, well, lets pretend that one never happened. Furball 4, will place each player in his/her own system. A one-way warp point will drop you in a central system, from which other one-way warp points lead back to the other player's systems. There will be no planets in this game, besides the 10 planets each player starts with. Take a preview of the map:

Stellar manipulation and Intel will both be disabled. thats DISABLED, as in TURNED OFF. you will have ZERO racial points. Please submit a ZERO point empire. This is a MAX tech game. there will be NO research. I think most people have been playing long enough now, that I am not obligated to explain what this means for empire creation. but if you cant figure it out, I will be happy to provide details over email or on the game forum.

This game will conform to gentlemen's rules. Please, no predetermined alliances, or surrender to your buddy. If you need to surrender, do it to the guy thats kicking your butt. If your buddy is in the game, decide wither or not to be on his side after you meet him and the other empires. The same goes for grudges against the guy that beat you in the Last game you played. Please try not to carry over bad feelings, we're all grown up here.

Also, please do not knowingly exploit bugs in the game. currently, the only bug that I know about is overdamage from Time Distortion Bursts. This game will begin in early January, and if the new patch is not available then, I will ask that you not use these weapons. or that you refrain from using them until we can upgrade to the next patch Version.

Furball 2 get's a bad rap. I rather enjoyed trying to figure out a way to stop those uber ships. I actually managed to destroy "Hell" with a star destroyer, but it was too late to save my homesystem, or anyone elses.

(Dammit, why do you guys have to keep making up these games with cool hooks?!? That's what always gets me is a good hook - max tech start, 10 planets in small galaxy, P&N, or whatever!

this game will be starting on Jan 31, even if the Last three furball 3 players have not killed each other off.

There is plenty of room in the game, so come jump in and join the fun.

This is probably a mistake but I am going to give it a shot. I'll get my butt whooped big time but it should be fun.

I joined as Choking Cats Empire.... Get it... Choking Cats... Furball... Ok, my humor sucks...

historically, i have been among the first players eliminated in all the furball games thus far. This probably wont change.

Hi Puke,

I was about to join your Furball PBW game when I noticed the turn time - 24 hours.

This is not good for me, as it means that I can't do a turn a day (at the same time each night) as i would need to send my turn earlier and earlier each day - until I could'nt do it. Which, of course, means the dumb computer would take over and... well that would not be good.

If you change it to 28 hours, that would be easier for me and I will join.

All you'd have to do is whenever it looks like the turn timer is getting too early for you, start checking PBW several times a day! I'd explain further but my brain seems to be muddled on that concept...
