Re: Quick Modding Question
You can, with a little trick, effectively use copystats without copying weapon or armour. Here's a bit of code from the skaven that demonstrates it. Unit 1447 is some agarthan infantry which has darkvision 50, the trait I'm after. It also has weapons and armour which I don't want.
#newmonster 2170
#copystats 1447
#armor "nothing"
#end
That's making a new unit which copies the agarthan infantry but loses the armour. You then copystats this unit, 2170, for your actual recruitable units. You have to take this extra step because if you try to give your recruitable unit #armor "nothing" you can't add your own choice of armour and if you just overwrite the 1447 armour with another choice and it has a shield as well that you don't want, you can't get rid of it.
Anyway, here's the recruitable unit code. Note that he copystats 2170 instead of 1447. The weapons from unit 2170/1447 are lost as soon as you add a new weapon in the code, so aren't a problem.

#descr "The leaders of lesser clans, those that can neither claim the title of Warlord or Greater Clan, the chieftans are numerous and somewhat expendable, though with their accompanying slaves and clanrats they can certainly add weight to the teeming hordes that make up a Skaven army. Like most Skaven of any import, they make it their business to lead from the back, pushing their subordinates forward toward enemy lines while prudently avoiding the danger of pitched battle. Chieftans may choose to gather three slaves per month, pushing them into combat ahead of the main force of Clanrats."
