Adding Map text --guidelines
Here is a short set of guild-lines for adding text files to maps
1/ Map .TXT files go in the Maps folder with the maps .CMT and .DAT
2/ End a sentence with a * and use * to leave a gap between paragraphs ( and keep the paragraphs short...it's easier to read )
3/ DO NOT USE any of these in any game text file ( that INCLUDES the version line of the OOB's )
Grave accents – à, è, ì, ò, ù
Acute accents – á, é, í, ó, ú, ý
Circumflex accents – â, ê, î, ô, û
Tilde accents – ñ, õ, ã
Umlaut accents – ä, ë, ï, ö, ü, ÿ
4/ you can use any writing program you are comfortable using to compose your write up but save it using a Text Editor or Notepad and save it as the map number. TXT ( so, for example, spmap427.txt.....there MUST be three ( no more or less ) digits after spmap(xxx).txt
That's it. The text will wrap from page to page unlike unit data that is confined to three short paragraphs, so you can be as verbose as you like ( within reason.. nobody wants a" War and Peace" write up.)
