I have found that in regards to attacking planets with troop transports(make sure the main movement command is drop troops) That the Attack command does not work well. I always use the move command and it works every time. I believe that it may have been fixed in later Versions of SEIV but The move command has never failed not even once.

Make sure the ships strategy is capture planet as well as the fleet straetgy. If you by chance listed the transports as population transports instead of troop transports, they will default to "don't get hurt". You have to change that or it will override the fleet strategy.

Only cause I have done it so many times do I think of that so quickly.
What I think is wierd is that if the fleet strat is set to capture planet and the ship strat is set to don't get hurt, the ship strat overrides. BUT if the ship strat is set to capture planet and the fleet strat is set to optimal, or anything but capture planet, then the FLEET strat overrides in that case. Doesn't seem consistatn in my mind.

Yep - that was it. Oddly enough I had created a new Class called "Fleet Support" and it was set to Optimal Weapons Range, not capture planet. Just uploaded the next turn and am trying to take his Last planet so maybe the race will survive (under my careful guidance of course hehe) after all.
Man these Buffalo games move fast.
