starting a new game with players in their own system

I'd like to start a game where each player has 5 planets an all 5 of their planets start in 1 system. Seems like no matter what i try, they usually end up spread across 2-3 systems.

Is there a way...

The largest universe i seem to be able to make is large quadrant size.

Is it possible to make it larger? I know it is because i joined a game that seems to have 10X as many systems as the map that...

ya i'm thinking the reason my ships became so preoccupied in this case was that i was taking out someone's homeworld that had a lot of population on it. Had it been a lesser world it probably...

yes there were.. i don't want to not attack the planet.. i just thought it odd my ships felt it was such a threat and didn't care about the null space weaponed ship nearby or the spacec stations or...

as far as i can tell it doesn't help. My allies and I had 6 crew inssurections total go off on the same turn against the guy with 58k intel output. He blocked them all..

while i agree it "makes sense" to think of it working that way, in my experience it does not.

Am i wrong in assuming intelligence is useless? Initialy it was very effective when nobody had counter intel. But ever since i got my intel up to about 10-15k production, and started doing counter...

true.. i removed and reinstalled SE4 and applied the latest patch. Then redid my turn and uploaded it. Guess we'll see if that helps at all when the game runs tonight. Will post results tomorrow

geo - thanks much for looking into it. I agree it's easy to screw up a message but in fact i've been careful all to many times. It's been going on that long. I always confirm that me empire screens...

Yes its "TheBigOne" and my empire is "Melnibone" (player Yrrkoon).

My ships and everything else work fine. Just the Messages don't.

And it wasn't always a problem. Early on, one of the two...

Well I definetly have a bug i'm getting regularly in SEIV though its not clear to me what to do about it. Makes it really difficult to play.

In a MP game i'm playing, my empire can't send Messages...

what use is climate control facility?

it increases conditions on a planet 1% a turn.. But what good is that? It doesn't elminate the dome which is the atmosphere TYPE. Does it just make your populance happier? 1% a turn seems pretty...

i've got some questions regarding sweeping mines..

As far as i can see, it's impossible to see how many mines are in a square. I don't see any components that scan them (i.e. scanners) and moving...

what exactly does mothballing a ship do? Could it be used to protect a ship from being mutinied? right now i'm losing a ship a turn to mutiny.. i need to scrap all my warpships so they aren't used...
