The CD audio is on in the TDM settings file... just checked that. I'm not going to mess about with the hardware for this - shouldn't be necessary....

Ah, ok. Gotcha now on the non-reading of the music.

I can get the music to play in Windows Media Player, but no go in game.

Yep, CD is in and the option is enabled for CD music. I'm on WinME, but my friend is having the same trouble on XP with a completely different sound card. This is the Gold Version of SEIV.

There is a small cable attached, and the box to enable digital audio is greyed out in my device manager.

Haven't had trouble playing any kind of audio from CD before, so what's different here?
