Re: CD Music?
Yep, CD is in and the option is enabled for CD music. I'm on WinME, but my friend is having the same trouble on XP with a completely different sound card. This is the Gold Version of SEIV.
It appears that the CD drive is being accessed (like you'd expect with CD music) for a minute or so after I start the game, but then it stops.
Neither of us have ever had trouble like this. And let me repeat something from my first post: I don't see any music ON the CD when I explore it.

Re: CD Music?
Can you just play the music off the CD in say, Windows Media Player?

Ummm.... again, I don't see any music ON THE CD.
I am looking at the contents of the CD in my drive right now. It has the main D: directory, and two folders: DEMOS and EXTRAS. There are no music files, no media files of ANY kind, in any of the three locations.
Overall, I have no other sound problems in this game and no sound troubles in any other applications whatsoever. I swear it is beginning to look to me like there simply isn't any music there to be played...

Re: CD Music?
You're not alone - I am having the exact same problem with my copy of SEIV Gold (just restarting to play after a long hiatus). The music tracks can be played via Windows media, but will not run while I play the game. Is this a Windows ME/XP issue?

For the fourth time: I do not see any music files on the CD at all. Neither does my friend on his.
We both just ordered the game directly from Malfador Last week. I'm starting to think the music was left off this batch of CD's or something. The thing is, I really don't care about music if the game plays fine, but I'd still like to know why this doesn't work.

Re: CD Music?
Try placing an Audio CD in the drive, and run SE4. This will see if it is the game CD with the problem, or some configuration problem.
Also see if you can get the game CD music to play in a stereo or CD player. Remember, track 1 is data, and needs to be skipped in such a device.
Also try playing the game CD music in WinAmp or Windows Media Player (or some other such program) by loading a directory and selecting "D:\".

You won't see them in Explorer because they are Audio tracks on a combination Data/Audio CD. Explorer just treats such CDs as Data CDs.
