Re: 90th Division remarks

It looks to me that this war has been very poorly planned for and incompetently executed. It is clear that we have been defeated on the battlefield and that the entire world, primarily Western...

Re: Iran\'s Flag

Yes, that is what I meant. Better tanks (at least for the period) than they used/bought after their "revolution."

Re: Iran\'s Flag

Wasn't "Imperial Iran" that had the best tanks?

Re: Cluster Munitions - Capable to destroy tank?

I have found cluster munitions, what I am referring to in fact are rockets from MLRSs, are absolutely lethal to pretty much everything in the hexes they hit. I would include in this cluster bombs as...

Re: Newbie question

Yes, the 'dust trail' rises up as a vehicle speeds along, lower the speed the less the dust. Speed is measured by % of movement points used in a turn. Wait until you have a charge down a road and...

Why, exactly, do you think that is just crazy?

Re: Favorite (a-historical) unit mixes

It may be a game. But it's also war. And sporting in war leads to death.

Not much challenge but a lot of fun. And the games (I presume) go quickly.

Unless you were talking about my games....

Favorite (a-historical) unit mixes

I like to play Long Campaign(s) of 200 battles. I also like to buy most of my units at the very beginning. I rename the commander of each unit after an old friend, historical figure, pet or...

Re: That Motorcyclist bug: Very helpful, thank you.

I do not understand mobhacking although I do understand what you are talking about. I really have no idea about how to go about it. Given that: A few questions....
1) Wouldn't these, as infantry,...

Map Numbers

When I look at the battlefield map (as I always do) prior to a battle I notice that the "battle location" has a (map?) number, that seemingly coincides with the map I am looking at. Yet, if I go into...

Re: GOP CONGRESSMAN SEES THE LIGHT!!!

I pity the fool. I mean really, how stupid is this stuff? Very very very. I am constantly amazed that anyone can repeat it without just falling down and laughing at themselves. Or having to be...

Re: WINSPWW2 Sub-Tactical?

I seem to get a deluge of return fire anyway, in this game.

\"pounder\" v. millimeter equivalents

What, roughly, do a 2-pounder, six pounder and twenty-five pounder equal in terms of millimeters? Those Brits are so confusing and I presume the "pounder" doesn't refer to the cost of the weapon.

Re: Preferences & air sorties & flickering & crash

Nope. Still flickers with each increase in number. Does not (seem to) have any effect on game play.

This is a beautiful and versatile game and with whatever/any minor bugs it may contain it is no...

Re: Preferences & air sorties & flickering & crash

I have been playing with the sound off (it drives my wife crazy after about an hour) all along. I tried the windowed mode and see no difference in the flickers in the campaign set-up screen.
The...

Re: Enemy immobilization immobilized??

I apologize. I have discovered an immobilized enemy armored unit. It has been noted as immobilized (apparently got that way during the AI turn) and has remained so fo two whole turns. I stand...

Re: Preferences & air sorties & flickering & crash

I ran the DXDiag and found "no problems" in anything. But problems showed up in Display 2 for both the Test Direct Draw (my diagonals were red instead of B&W) and for Test Direct3D (where the square...

Re: Enemy immobilization immobilized??

My manouever units, when immobilized say so and stay so.

But when hit an enemy unit will have 'immobilized' appear, indicating that it is(?) immobilized, but when I check it, it is not. It may be...

Re: More oddities, new user of 1.01B, old 7.01er

Yes. I have now seen (but only once) kraftrad gain MPs after pulling back (actually retreating with loss) which allowed it to withdraw from the general danger zone. I regularly have them pick-up MPs...

Re: That Motorcyclist bug: Very helpful, thank you.

Yes. I find these little 'killer angels' to be quite able to fly about the battlefield, killing as they go. They do tend to be a bit vulnerable to enemy fire and need to have their manpower checked...

Enemy immobilization immobilized??

How come when I get a result of "immobilized" for an enemy vehicle (read "tank") it turns out on the next move that it is only "buttoned". When my manouever elements get immobilized they stay...

That Motorcyclist bug: Very helpful, thank you.

Okay. We all know that occasionally the Kraftrad will pick up fresh movement points after you manually rally them. I am experiencing something new and different, it has happened at least twice in...

Movement Penalties for troop carrying

I understand that there is a movement penatly of about 500 MPs for tanks carrying infantry, okay. They're not really designed for it.

But why is there an approximately 2/3ds MP penalty for...

Karl Morser(s)

I replaced a large number of my off map artillery with Karl Morsers and began a battle. In order to see their effect I tried to program them for an initial battle opening fire-storm but they wouldn't...

Re: Preferences & air sorties & flickering & crash

Allow me to (perhaps) clarify. The flickers occur only when I am doing something in the (generate-, long-) campaign set up window. Each time I change the month/year/decade, country flag, number of...
