It's a bit beyond the scope for BM, but I was going to add new basic damage types for weapons in my Nova mod. For example, you'd have a projectile damage type, an energy damage type, etc.

I'm not concerned about planets being depleted of population as it is very unlikely. There's a high population weight in the mod, so it's usually taking less than 15M population and small domed...

I tested it out before I posted to make sure. The ship will load supplies/ordnance from the planet as long as long as it's there during turn processing. There was no resupply depot in the system.

As long as the fleet is not destroyed or disbanded, its bonus will apply to any ship in the fleet.

The AI already does this. It tells you to remove your colonies, ships, stop being allies with their enemies, stop military or intelligence attacks etc.

Not really, unless you want to hand your fleet operations over to the Fleets Minister. Just as easy to hit "N" after you create a fleet to name to something different.

It's interesting to note though that when an AI creates a fleet, they are named simply Fleet 1 .. Fleet N etc.

You might be using their flags or ships, which would mean the game wouldn't add them as empires since it would mean duplicate ships/flags.

The biggest ship in the Balance Mod is the Baseship, which tops out at 1800kT. It fits most of your conditions - it's big and slow. Rather than add a new entry though, you can just modify the size...

What you describe is just a large ship with fewer engines and more combat oriented components. You can easily design such a ship now without the adding a new hull type.
