Re: Aegis can not kill statues?

Holy hell. I had an Earth King SC running round in a game with the stone sword on the assumption it was immune to it. One unlucky MR roll and that could have been embarrassing.

You'd sort of think...

Re: Noobs & Vets: Rise of the AI Menace. EA, BI, Running.

That message flags up occasionally as a bug. They haven't actually had a huge income spike.

Re: Forge of Godhood - started

Bah! The horde isn't your problem. There's barely a single unit in my entire roster - undead or living - than can do more than chip the polish off the armour of those damn Ulmish tanks. It's the Evo...

Re: How to get into the victorious nations/hall of honor

For me, the Law of Large Numbers is spoiled by the Law of Needing To Hold Down A Job.

Re: Forge of Godhood - started

Incidentally, to interpose with something moderately important, can I request a 24h delay to Saturday 22.00 or so?

Oh honestly, did you lose a spell? That's very careless.

"Fair" Pangaea? From that Carrion Woods, it's more like decaying and decomposing!

Re: MP Guide to LA Ermor - The Ashen Empire

How big your army needs to be is a judgement you have to make yourself. You'll need to reanimate with priests early on to get your armies going. Once your Dom develops, you can let the freespawn do...

Re: Who Reanimates?

Question is what use reanimation is as well. My experience of MA Ermor has been that you expend a vast amount of mage time and effort raising a huge army, and it tends to disappear like smoke in the...

Re: Ultimate Gateway

Crikey. I was happy enough to find a Crystal Citadel on turn 4 of a game. Can't complain about a free fort that early...

Re: Noobs & Vets: Rise of the AI Menace. EA, BI, Running.

In the early game, provinces and gold is far more representative of being ahead than research and gems.

Ultimately, gold will turn into mage recruitment and thus research, and provinces will turn...

Re: Dominion Push

If you've bottled an enemy up in a fortress (often their capital), and it's full to the brim with enemy units and mages such as to make an assault massively punishing, a Domkill may be the quickest...

Re: Protection and Defense

So no, I wasn't including shields.

* * *

Shields simply cannot be "double counted" as per Peter Ebbesen, The example in the book with the black centaur should not be 17 Def including shield. I...

Re: Noobs & Vets: Rise of the AI Menace. EA, BI, Running.

Just as a note if anyone seems to not have their turn, Gandalf reminded me to check my spam folder, and indeed, there it was.

My .2h should now be in.

Re: preaching and turn order.

I had a situation recently. The province was +1 candle to an enemy god and I was under siege in the castle with no temple. I ordered 6-8 H2 priests inside the castle to preach, and I moved my...

Re: Robe of Invulnerability

If you want to dump some +protec on a character for 0 encumbrance, I'd generally turn Stone Boots or a barkskin amulet first as they're much cheaper.

If you've got a very critical low-HP mage -...

Re: Protection and Defense

As per Amorphous' equation, getting over 30 protection is often difficult in practice. You generally need the spell invulnerability or some really massive armour (Aseftik's, Monolith). Most thug...

Re: Forge of Godhood - started

Ermorian onslaught? Foul, treacherous lies!

Twice Ermor has had a surprise assault launched against us. Firstly by Mictlan, then at the end of that war, Ulm sought to crush our exhausted forces....

Re: What scales attract special units?

I think knights come with turmoil just like Barbarians. I think the difference is due the province type - barbarians tend to hit "uncivilised" provinces like forests and mountains, whereas knights...

Re: Militia Vs. Militia

A "basic" (i.e. all stats 10) human warrior costs 10gp. Pretty much anything cheaper tends to have stats deficiencies and could be thought of as militia. Velites, Fir Bolg and Huskarls are surely not...

Re: Pyrothere - LA slowpace - Game on!

Atlantis fallen?

You still have your capital's fort with a decent mage force, at least one army, and plenty of provinces. There's life in you yet.

Re: Pyrothere - LA slowpace - Game on!

A scout has reported back to Utgard HQ on that one. A mighty contest indeed, although even if the battle had occurred as per the bugged version it would have been a Pyrrhic victory for Ermor.
