Re: Suhiir's Revised USMC OOB #13

Re: Suhiir's Revised USMC OOB #13

Hello, I have nothing clever or insightful to say about your OOB as I only have a casual interest in these things, but I am certainly enjoying it!
It really shows that you actually know what the...

Re: MBT Campaign: Race for Tehran

Thank you!
I actually guessed 30,000 points, and made a start anyway.

Cheers!

Re: MBT Campaign: Race for Tehran

If I do want to change the core force, how many points should the core be?

Re: winspmbt 5.0 ghost wish

Hey dreaming is good! And you never know, every so often someone may think outside the box and actually ask for something that Don and Andy haven't thought of and that might actually be possible.

Re: WinSPMBT version 4.5 Upgrade patch

Got it! Thanks.

NOT a complaint, merely an observation/FYI (as the last patch IIRC said everything had a picture now) in the British OOB the LR sniper and the Scimitar SLAT do not have a picture....

Re: Small maps, fewer turns

I thought I once read in this forum that the AI would ignore a victory hex below a certain value, so as to prevent it from trying to recapture it (assuming you wanted the AI to hold its position...

Re: Small maps, fewer turns

Thanks, but yes I am aware you can move them and that is indeed what I normally do in these games. I was more wishing that the enemy would set up closer to those points in order 'protect' them.
This...

Re: Small maps, fewer turns

These are the only two issues I've had with the smaller map/ smaller force games. The first one is really just a personnal learning curve, the second more of an game limitation.

1) When trying...

Re: Small maps, fewer turns

I'm also a big fan of the smaller battles. (They suit my tiny attention span better!)

In larger battles I have too much time to decide that either my tactics or my choice of force was utter...

Re: Results of 200 shots.

Hmmm, I'd better be clear: I only cheat against the computer!
I've never played a PBEM game let alone cheated in one, honest! (Can you do the reloading cheat thing in PBEM games?)

Anyway, I'd...

Re: Results of 200 shots.

And you're right, it is lame, but let me explain myself.
Its clear that most of you guys are very serious about this game and its subject and are very knowledgable on how to fight battles, what to...

Re: Results of 200 shots.

Sorry, you miss my point. I'm talking about deliberately suspending that short term 'real life' chance in favour of the long run results.
This is because I 'get' nothing from winning or losing a...

Re: Meeting engagements problem

Erm, probably a dumb question, but why can't a campaign begin with an assault or delay?

Re: Results of 200 shots.

The lucky shots trouble me too.
I'll be honest here, I am a cheat! I always save my games at the begining of a turn, and if I loose something important to a 1% shot, or if my last milan round fails...

Re: Body Armour

Sounds good, but I'd really want to be able to have significant differances in infantry. I know its meant for vehicles, but I wonder if the 'survivability' field affects infantry as well?

Re: Body Armour

Stars Wars and Steel Panthers would be very interesting. But themClone soldiers (and Stormtroopers) wear armour, dammit!

Re: Body Armour

Ha ha! The question I was too scared to ask!

It was that thought that made me ask about body armour in the first place, as I was half tempted to have ago at a mod myself.

Body Armour

I only ask this out of curiosity, but does the armour that some modern infantry wear, make enough of a difference to a soldiers chance of staying in the fight to be represented in the game?
If it...
