Re: Does anyone know the formula SEIV uses to calculate score?

I had 2000 bases in turn 107 in the game I turned in and I stopped micromanaging on turn 77 so I could turn the game in early. My current game I am at turn 104 and am generating a lot more resources...

Re: Pacifist / paralysing mines

If you click off the only latest button you will see the explosive warheads. You created the alegience subverter at the top of the tech tree for explosive warheads so its assumed to be just the...

Re: Should score be based on firepower?

Daynarr I agree with you that the best way to stop this is to fix the Diplomacy issues in the game. I just don't think that mothballed ships are that dangerous an issue by itself. If the different...

Re: Should score be based on firepower?

Even without mothballing the tactic would work fast if you build bases (50% maintaince) and took a maintaince boost at start up. You would be able to build up bases and a few scout ships and still...

Re: Empire wide facilities

What happens if you capture an enemy "seat ofgovernment"? Do they just lose bonuses or do you gain bonuses from having the facility?
It would be difficult to make the game know that it was a...

Re: Beating a dead horse....

Interesting I wonder if you built 15 or 16 of them used atmosphere facilities on them and changed them into different atmospheres if an AI race would start out on a ringworld? Hmm a filled ringworld...

Re: Drones

Its a widespread bug. Stellar manipulation components also are supposed to use supplies and they don't either. Engines seem to be about the only things that do use supplies at the moment.

Re: Armor, Shields and Damage (FAQ)

You did mention about attacking a normal shield ship with phased weapons and normal weapons. But it seems stranger than what you stated. The phased damage will be transfered to the shields by the...

Re: easy question - help with attacking

Actually non-aggression and above will stop attacks. You can't keep an opponent out of one of your systems with blockades or mines if you have a non-aggression treaty with them so only use it in...

Re: Proposed \'Quick Fix\' for some Combat \'Anomalies\'

Perhaps stopping all movement would be too drastic but adding movement penalties for firing would help. Perhaps some weapons like missles would have more penalties then others or the penalties should...

Re: Intelligence BS

I don't think is on a chance basis (except perhaps the puppet political parties and that was patched to be chance). The only thing that is left to chance is which project your counter intell targets...

Re: Carrier fleets --- Strategic combat?

Also if you fire any missles I have noticed that a ship with point defence will rush toward you in tactical. In strategic I am sure the same happens. So any fleet with both missle and beam (or any...

Re: Athmospheric modification/Gas Giant/No athmosphere

I play Ice world no atmosphere quite a bit. It eliminates the need for atmosphere converters as noted below and is quite a different game than playing a gas giant start up. You don't start out in...

Re: Diplomacy Quirk

The political Savvy of 130 does not help you maintain or get into treaties in this game. As far as I know it only gives you higher income from the treaties that you get.

Quote from the CD manual:...

Re: Athmospheric modification/Gas Giant/No athmosphere

The only reason atmosphere converters won't work in this case is that there are no gas giant none pictures or planets set up so since there is nothing to change to the game can't do it.

Re: Two Hundred Mines = Dead Fleet. How to Overcome?

Mines work one at a time. So if your ship can survive one mine with no damage it will survive 200 mines with no damage. Organic armor regenerates after each attack. Each warhead is calculated as one...

Re: Scanners

Scanners don't work through warp points. They are only useful to see what components are on ships that you can see are there anyway. They don't help to see cloaked ships either you need sensors to do...
