With prior SP's, you always got the chance for more than one battle anyway, as usually you had a battle for each month (or partial month), so that would be 2 battle apiece for Poland and France.

And I have just started a 40 battle German LC, 3 battles in Poland, 3 in France (2 French and 1 v Britain), 1 in Norway, and off to Africa...

I'm with Ironfist here. Not only can the FSSF engage infantry at range with devestating results, they can do it a point blank range as well with the flamer and engage tanks at short range or up...

I have the cd game, and I never have to change the map size after the first time, as it remains the same. The answer may be that you need the cd for it to stick, and that doesnt sound too...

That sort of doesn't make sense to me. The difference, between 4 and 5 unit platoons is miniscule and almost not worth bothering...
